Hi Tom.
if this is your first fast...i wouldn't recommend a water fast. That is really extreme and should only be done by experienced healthy emotionally and physically prepared people. If I were you, I'd try a juice fast first. one that I have done and highly recommend is the lemonaid fast....see link below. Site has support message board and detox is simple and inexpensive and provides you with all the nutrients you will need. You should only struggle for the 2nd - 4th days...if you can get thru that it should be smooth sailing and you will feel GREAT!!!

http://www.mastercleanser.com/master-cleanser-1.htm
great info on this site....you can buy the book if you want, but you really don't have to because it is very simple:
Master Cleanser
2 tbsp lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
2 tbsp of pure grade B maple syrup - organic if possible...(if you can't find grade B, use grade A)
1/10 tsp (a dash) cayenne pepper (red) or to taste
12 oz of purified water
Combine ingredients and drink.
You many make enough to drink all day long (although I recommend adding the cayenne to each glass as each drink is poured because the longer it sits in the drink, the hotter it gets - so just imagine it sitting all day in the thermos). But don't make more than 1 day's worth at a time. Fruit juice loses all it's live benifits within 24 hours of juicing. You must drink AT LEAST 6-8 glasses each day (ingred above is for 1 glass)

You can also drink mint tea (which will taste like heaven by day 5) and water...but nothing else - except the following:

Now, get an herbal laxitive tea...drink that each night before bed, that will help quickly eliminate all the toxins that are being dumped into your intestines. (you'll have some freaky dreams) In the mornings, drink 12 oz of water with 2 tsp of sea salt (iodine free)...can be warm or cool...that will help flush the above toxins out quickly (if you don't do this step, you'll be hitting the john several times during the first 1/2 of the day)...I couldn't choke the salt water down - so I just drank the tea again in the mornings. It's not crucial.

You should aim for 10 days...but if you can't make it, no worries, go as long as you can. Like I said, about day 2 you'll be feeling pretty bad...but hang in there - you'll start feeling really good soon!

go to the discussion boards on the site for support!

Hi Tom,

There are many types of fasting, each varying from person to person, and version to version. Since you asked about water fasting, it basically means you keep your fast by drinking only water thru' out the day. Here in India (where I'm currently living, by the way) fasting is a part of daily lives. So water fast means, from the time we wake up, till the end of the day, we survive on only water, and we are permitted to break our fast at a certain time, which means, around 6PM we have ONE meal. This is a ONE DAY fast.

There are many who fast days together, but you must understand that long fasts are not very healthy and not recommended by doctors. If you must fast for a period exceeding one day, you can either try the one day fast, everyday, or just include in your diet water and fruits only (instead of only water).

GoodLuck my friend, you can mail me if you need any more help.
Happy New Year!

A few years back I tried some different styles of fasting the one I liked the most as far as liquids goes. I had losta Boluion cubes, watered down juice, losta water of course, tea's, cold tea, hot tea, maybe coffee if this is for a weight thing..

Generally it isn't good to fast but I like to every once and a while for a few days makes me feel more energized

If you're going to fast for a number of days, I recommend not only water but vegetable broth, so you'll be getting nutrients.

And since you won't have any fiber in your body, you need to be able to eliminate wastes, or they just sit there in your colon; not so good for your body. And unfortunately, the best way to do it is with enemas.

To keep from not wanting to go with this guy you should try making your self stick to the situation and if you really like him you should naturally want to stay with him, but to try and keep yourself from rejecting him do stuff with him all the time make yourself hang with him and try new things. If that doesn't seem to fit your taste then try sitting down with him and explaining the problem, like you tell him you really do like him but you get stuck once things start rolling in the relationship, and you both could try to work it out together.
