My oldest of our four children, Jessica will be turning 18 on the 28th of this month and she wanted to have her party at the bowling alley and invite a bunch of her friends from school and family too. I felt like it wasn't special enough and wanted to do something better but have NO idea(s).
(We can't go all out money-wise since we are still recovering from Christmas.)
Any ideas would be welcome even if we can't do what might be suggested on her actual birthday, maybe we can make up for it later on.

What you must think of is this is you daughter do something special like you could make dinner for your family a special one like a dinner she likes and birthday cake of course but you make one it would be very special too her. she may even that you gave her most of your love on her birthday.
Tell her happy birthday with a big hug

I think the bowling alley is what she really wants
you can make it special by purchasing deco. ( try neon )
and then after the bowling alley let her friends stay over at the house. They can rent movies and have popcorn.

I am sure you remember being 18 it is all about the friends.

Also, I dont know if your local area as a club but maybe you can take her and her girlfriends out to the club so they can dance and have a good time but be safe at the same time because mom is there.

hope this helps

What is more special than doing something she wants. She asked for that and it dosent' seem too bad. Everyone is recovering from Christmas lol. My daughter has a birthday on the 26th but she will not be 18. Movies, party at home? By the way um not all geeks bowl. I should know I am a flaming one.

Plan a day at the spa have lunch brought to you.Have three different outfits ready for your friend to put on after she is finished being pampered(return the other two and split the difference of the one she picked)then have a few more friends at your house for a surprise party.

Let her do what she wants. Its her birthday and she should enjoy it how she sees fit. Bake a cake for her and have a little family get together before the big party.

Do what she wants to do. If she came up with it then it must be special enough to her. Maybe you can plan a vacation or cruise for later to celebrate her bday. But for sure do what she wants.
