Yes, Catholic Priests should be allowed to marry.
Peter had a wife, yet was an apostle of Christ, who showed that he approved of the married state, by being thus kind to Peter's wife's relations.
"But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her." - Mark 1:30
"And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. " - Matthew 8:14
Peter is also supposed to be the first pope of the
Catholic Church. Therefore the Catholic Church which forbids ministers to marry, goes contrary to that apostle upon whom they rest so much.
Paul states that the Apostles can get married if they so choose. And he also gives examples of Apostles who were married.
"Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?"
- 1 Corinthians 9:5
Hope this helps

This idea of a celibate clergy came from the Jews, John the Baptist, Jesus, and the Apostle Paul.
The Jews. The Talmud argues that a person whose “soul is bound up with the Torah and is constantly occupied with it” may remain celibate (Maimonides, Laws of Marriage 15.3). For example, Yahweh ordered the prophet Jeremiah not to marry (Jeremiah 16:1-4). Moreover, the Essenes was a group that was active in Jesus’ time that practiced celibacy and thought by most scholars to be the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
WWJD? What would Jesus do? Jesus did not marry.
John the Baptist and Jesus are both believed to have been celibate for their entire lives. Some scholars believe that the example of the Essenes influenced either or both Jesus and John the Baptist in their celibacy.
The Apostle Paul is explicit about his celibacy (see 1 Cor. 7). There is also evidence in the gospel of Matthew for the practice of celibacy among at least some early Christians, in the famous passage about becoming “eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 19:12).
The concept took many twists and turns over the years and will probably take a few more before Christ returns in glory.
A priest is "married" to the Church. Some people think that a priest who takes his duties seriously cannot take proper care of a wife and family. "A man cannot serve two masters."
With love in Christ.

You are speaking of the Roman Rite. Other Rites can choose marriage before ordination. Deacons in the Roman Rite are mostly married.
Roman Rite priest took the vow of celibacy in approximately the 4th century. As it is a man made agreement it can be changed. Also many married clergy of other denominations join the Roman Rite with wife and children and continue an active ministry.

Yes, I do. They should.
It's a God-given privilege for humans, regardless of what role they play in life to marry and generate offsprings.
In fact, in Islam, a person would have completed half the duty of their religion when they get married, so even the Imams and religions people of the religion have spouses.
Sex is a natural human sensation and should not be suppressed.

Yes. I don't think they were forbidden in the early church. The Apostle Paul asks shouldn't he bel allowed to lead about a wife like Peter. I don't have the referance on hand but I assure you it is in the new testement. If you want e-mail me and when I have time I can provide it for you. If not look in a concordance under the words wife and Peter you should be able to find it. I chuckle at the thumbs down I already recieved apparently someone is unhappy about what is written in the new testement.

yes, I do. Psychologically speaking, it is a bad idea to forbid someone to marry. Marriage should be a choice. You can commit your life to God and still be married. Look at the protestant evangelists who have done much for God and are married (Billy Graham, ie). And many of the problems of the Catholic church, including the homosexuality you somewhat mention, can be traced back to that need for companionship that they are denied.

No. While the Catholic Church DOES ordain married men, priests have never been allowed to marry after ordination and remain in ministry. At ordination, priests become our spiritual fathers, so it would be a form of spiritual incest for them to date and marry their children.

The Catholic faith is bullshit.
The life of Jesus has been perverted and manipulated by men throughout the ages to benefit their own selfish greed. The Vatican is against homosexuality (which is a good thing) howver its clergymen throughout the world are homosexuals as they can't have sex with a woman because OH MY GOD, they'll lose faith in God.
ANy human being should be able to marry and procreate.

The Pope and the Magisterium of the Church doesn't think so and as it is, that would be the only opinion that matters.
