I have been saved for 4 years, and now that I've grown emensily in my faith and dedication to God, I want to get baptized, but my family and friends are not Christian and don't quite support my beliefs... I'm only 16 and need help.

If you've already been baptized as an infant, a covenant already exists between God and you through your parents (and a caring church, for that matter) that should have brought you up as a Christian, but apparently failed to do so if you've only "been saved for 4 years". If this will be your first baptism, then the rite will double as a profession of faith. If you have the freedom to attend church on your own, see your pastor. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that parents do not have to be in attendance at your baptism since you are above the age of reason.

You need to go to a Bible Teaching Christian Church and ask them to baptize you. The Baptist Churches practices Believers baptism. Once you have become a Christian, you should be baptized out of obedience to God.

Take your family to a nearby non-denominational church and begin a BIBLE STUDY with one of their members. Hopefully your family members will at least be open to learning about Jesus Christ and this should help. Most of the Non-denominational Churches will have Bible Studies already set up or people in your area that would be glad to do so. Have a great day!

Well, you go to a church, they put water on your head, and they convince you that it is doing something.
I dont think saved would be the correct word.
More like weak or gullible.
I am 17, I have been saved for 4 years also.
Except I found the truth, its called science.
Faith gives an irrational, unbelievable explanation to everything, without a factual backup.
Science is proof.
Get over yourself, please.

Talk to your minister, you may not have to wait until you are of legal age. Baptism is not the same as other things that are governed by the state. But talk to your minister, he would know if you can do it without parental consent.

Find the local "Church of christ" in your neighborhood and go visit them. Ask to be baptised and they will help you. True baptism is complete immersion in water, not "sprinkling" like the catholics do.

You need to find a church and a preacher. Talk to him about it and he will talk to you and make sure that your ready for this and then will walk to through each step of your baptism... This is a great step congrats!!!

You don't need permission from your family to get baptized. Just go to your pastor and tell him/her that you want to get baptized and they'll do it.

Please visit the www.bibleprobe.com for help. Best if you can declare your wish to your family elders and then get into a church to ask for direction to get baptism.
