I just bought a digital vidio camera that records on to mini DVD's. It can also record to a memory stick/ SD card.

I noticed that cards vary in price say a 1Gig from $35 to $150 is there a marked difference in speed and quality for these cards ? They use terms like 100x, multi media type and various other notations. The $35 card has a lifetime warrenty so is it just a speed issue.

Is writing to mini DVD disks better than writing to SD Mem cards?

Thanks in advance

SD memory card is for picture only and not to take a video shooting

Sorry the SD card is meant for pictures only and camcorders do not take the sharpest pictures in the world. But if you can send me the name of your camera I will check if the camera does record vide on the SD card. From what I've seen i have never seen any. DVD is only meant for recording video and a 5 second or so still image. Either way use the DVD its cheaper and it will give you more record time than SD cards will.
If you do want to take pictures on your camcorder, and want a 1G card, get a Kingston SD card. They are cheap and really good. $25 i got mine with rebates.

100x is probably its digtial zoom. I would not recommond it because it makes your image look grainy called noise. The more you zoom with digital zoom the more noise it will have. Only use the opitical zoom for the cleanest picture the camcorder can offer.

in maximum circumstances, any will artwork. there have been some affordable chinese language ones that failed. i've got used countless manufacturers and all have worked. verify the handbook for the max memory your digital camera can handle.
