How are ICEEs made?

So I have been drinking a lot of ICEEs lately at work and I am amazed at how smooth and tasty they are! :-) I want to know exactly how they are made and how they are made SO smooth! Somebody told me it's just pureed ice, but I had one at Aunti Annies, a knockoff ICEE, and THAT is pureed ice...what is an ICEE?

you can freeze some koolaid and it will taste just as good

well, i work at the asb at my school, and we sell icees there. basically, we buy syrup, pour a little bit of it in a gallon, then fill the rest with tap water [ewww], then the machine freezes it. something like that. have fun. =]
