What are some suggestions in helping others?

We have some extra money, but are suspicious of many charities.
We want to help the true needy, but don't want our money going to some fundraiser exec. for his new Jet. Who do you give to and do you trust them? Thank you!

The best way to do this is to investigate charities before you give. You can find reports of them on the internet; how much of their revenue goes to the needy, etc.

I would never give a dime to the American Red Cross or United Way.

I used to volunteer for World Concern -- I believe that they are a good charity.

The Salvation Army has a good reputation, as does Meals on Wheels. Also, local small soup kitchens, that have no fundaraising execs, would welcome every dollar they could get.

Sponsor a child with World Vision. I am sponsoring four right now and it is truly rewarding to get letters from them telling me about how much the project is helping them to have education and health care. Help save a life.

I like to help the local food bank or kitchen. I see the hungry line up for perhaps their only meal for the day.I see the need being met, and I know my money is being spent to feed the hungry.

give to an animal protection or enviromental charity we as humans have destroyed these parts of the Alls creation and are therefore responsible to replenish it we don't need to save humans there's enough of them roaming round already
