This is how I feel. If it's going to hurt the health of the mother, or if it was rape or incest, or if there is a huge chance it's going to die anyway then fine. But for a girl to just go out and be promiscuious and open up for every Tom, Dick, and Harry, to me that is just IRRESPONSIBLE behavior. Besides, they have birth control and morning after pills. There is no EXCUSE for abortion, period. I understand the whole "It's my body, I can choose, " but if you're willing to convict Scott Peterson for murder of an unborn fetus, you're damn right I'm gonna charge you with murder too. Believe it.

Moral issues aside:

Abortion causes physical damage to women's bodies. The cervix is like a donut and when pregnant it is very "hard" in an attempt to protect the pregnancy. Abortion forces the hard (not pliable) cervix to dialate. It causes damage.

In NY more than 40% of abortions are paid for by medicaid, AKA Tax dollars. I don't appreciate my tax money funding an elective surgery. You can't get a root canal on Medicaid but they cover irresponible behavior?

Last thing- rape, incest, and health risks make up only 1% of all abortions.

It is taking life, murder. It is the taking of a living soul. We have no right to make that choice, whatever the reason. It is not a form of birth control & studies show it is rarely used to save the life of a Mother. Studies show 80% of pregnant women who see a ultra sound of their baby, choose not to have an abortion. The mothers never realize the consquences of their actionss & how it leaves an emotional scar on the heart that is hard to heal. In the case of rape the child should be carried to term, what the devil meant for harm, God can turn into a blessing if not to the mother than a blessing to those who so desire to adopt a baby. There are always alternative answers, none easy, but if one would stop to think about the living soul within, instead of a easy way out of the consquences to their actions. The child is always innocent & has a right to life. Birth control is realitive available to all, across all economical situations. There is blood on our hands of this country to allow such a genocide.

There is no shortage of humans on this planet. Therefore the divinity of any foetus is in serious question. If the child is not wanted by the mother, the foetus has serious defects which would affect the quality of life for the child or its parents, then a therapeutic abortion is required. This is a no-brainer.

The pro-lifers will try to guilt the mother into carrying the child to term regardless of the consequences. There is no shortage of human life anywhere that humans can live. The U.S. has about twice as many people as the land mass can COMFORTABLY support. China and India are both grossly overpopulated. The value of children and women (the creators of children) has been reduced all over the world. Crimes against both are increasing and this is a recognition by our species that our numbers must be reduced. Abortion is not a solution, but bringing unwanted or defective children into the world isn't either. This is a complex question, but, in the end, it will be dealt with by a pandemic, or mass sterilization by elements in our environment. I just think it is too late to save the Earth. We may be living in the last century of relative comfort and biodiversity. In other words...WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!

to me there are no pros in abortion. I agree wholeheartedly that with your comment about Scott Peterson. How can you rationalize that it is murder when killed by someone other than the mom, but when she is carry a child and chooses to abort it is a medical procedure. If it is her body then there would not have been double murder. Abortion not only takes the life of the baby, it can and most time does affect the woman for life, even though they do not want to admit it. I counsel at a pregnancy help clinic and we see women come to us that have experienced abortion, and the physical, emotional and spiritual scars that they have a real and life long- only to be healed through Christ. Women think it is a quick fix for the "problem" they find themselves in. It is not the answer. Adoption is a good choice, I was adopted and I have 2 adopted kids and I think about this every day- what if my birth mom and what if their birth moms listened to the people around them and aborted us- we would not have life. There are no pros to murder,

I believe abortion is so wrong. I believe in the bible, and my bible tells me that God knew me while I was in my mother's womb. If God knew me while I was in my mother's womb, then that alone officially makes me a person. My heart goes out to women who have been raped, let alone get pregnant by a rapist. But there are thousands of people who can not have children and would love to adopt. Since abortion has been legalized just about everywhere, young girls are using it mostly as a form of birth control. Many argue that a fetus isn't considered a baby until three months, to me, a life is a life and killing is killing regardless of the age. If I killed a 101 year old man, would this make me any less guilty, just because he had one foot in the grave already? I've often wondered if God considered Jesus as being a life, if Mary had aborted him. What do you think?

Well I just turned 27 and I have 3 beautiful kids because I think abortions are disgusting, especially when a friend of mine got one when she was 6 months pregnant, and didn't tell me until afterwards when she regretted it because she went the first day and injected something in her uterus and the baby was kicking hard for hours and when she went back the next day to have the "baby" {no longer a fetus} she asked them about the kicking and they said they put something in the amniotic fluid that suffocates the baby! Well anyway I stopped talking to her after that and found out later on that she had another child and is all I thought was how sad it was that her mother murdered her brother or sister! Sorry for being so vulgar but maybe someone will read this and it will help them make an alternate decision!

...I am pro-life. Abortion on demand is a national tragedy and it cheapens human life.
...Abortion and partial-birth abortion are absolutely deplorable and depraved acts.
...Abortion providers are in it for the money, and like to have repeat business.
...There is something very, very wrong in this country, when people move heaven and earth to save snail darters, woodpeckers, whales and the eggs of unborn eagles (and they can identify that they contain unborn eagles) - it is incredible to me that when it comes to saving an unborn baby - that these same folks cannot decide whether an unborn child really is a child. It takes a trained mind to deny the obvious. It is so sad that unborn children, among the most helpless of humans, become optional, throw-away items.
...We could make great progress in our country if God's laws of purity were followed - and people waited to have kids until after they are married - this would give every child the best and most secure start in life.
...RE rape and incest - pregnancies do result from rape and incest, but not many. My question to everybody is this - why execute the child, when the rapist and the one who committed incest should be punished? Go after them - they are the criminals, not the unborn child.
...RE to save the life of the mother - this is trumpetted by slick politicians as an out - and it is a red herring issue - this rarely, if ever, is needed.
...After an abortion, we are never told of the guilt women feel and the nightmares they have.
...Has anyone ever asked why a school nurse cannot dispense an aspirin, but is encouraged to refer teens to abortion "clinics" without parental consent?
...I would counsel against aborting if the child is expected to be Down's Syndrome baby or a special needs child - they are born in this world and need love and affection, also - why must some of insist on "perfect" babies? We are here to love and minister to everyone, not to save only "best" of the species!
...I will close with this quote from the late Mother Theresa - a godly woman, and here it is: "It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."
...May God grant us grace that we would respect human life and its preservation, born and unborn.

Every abortion kills an innocent human being. There's no "pros" to killing someone. I am pro-life and anti-abortion without exception. In the case of rape, why should an innocent child be punished with death for the crime of his or her father? A child conceived in rape is no less worthy of life than the rest of us. Furthermore, abortion only increased the trauma of a woman who has been raped. She becomes the aggressor, hurting another innocent victim the way she was hurt, and that knowledge will haunt her long after she has healed from the rape. In the case of incest, abortion often allows the molester to continue his abuse undetected. For more on rape and abortion, including stories of mothers who conceived babies in rape, see:

I simply do not believe I have the right to make that choice for another person. Just as it is not my place to judge what is in another person's heart. God did not put me on the Earth to judge another human being.

I don't believe you should use abortion as a form of birth control and I do believe that is why there are so many people outraged by this issue.

People don't want to take responsibility for their actions anymore.
We have become a "blame" everything on someone or something else society.

The pros would have to be: if God gave us free will them maybe this should be good enough for the Government. (?)

Cons: There would be more children for barren couples to adopt. It would force some to be more responsible for their actions. Children are our future..I believe I have heard that somewhere :)

The cons are limitless. There is not enough time or space to list them all.
If you are confused about where I stand...well me too. I choose to leave that to the individual person and God.

My honest view on abortion is that it's a cruel act of murdering a child. They call it "pro choice", yet does that little child in the women have a choice?! In most cases, the woman did have a choice whether to become pregnant or not by deciding to keep her legs closed, and even in the situation comes along where it wasn't the woman's fault she became pregnant at all, her baby shouldn't have to die on that behalf. Lots of people say that unless a child is born all ready, than he or she isn't a "human". Then why does an unborn baby have brain waves and a beating heart? An unborn baby has a soul right from it's beginning and is most definitely a human long before it comes out.

In my mind it comes down to a photo I have kept for years. On one side of the card, it shows a couple standing over an incubator holding a baby that was born in the fifth month. They were doing everything to keep that baby alive.
On the other side of the card, there is a black garbage bag full of dead babies, aborted in the fifth month.
Under each photo was one word. The word under the baby in the incubator was "WANTED" the word under the garbage bag was "UNWANTED" That is the only differance in the fate of those babies.
Abortion NEVER makes it go away. I had two at a very young age, and spent years in counseling after having my other children, coming to grips with what I had done. They were my children, no matter what circumstances they were concieved under.Killing them did not make them go away. I am a woman, I was created in a fashion to carry life and give birth to it and to nurture it. To go against that is to go against the very fibers of my being. If you really look at the evidance, don't look at the emotion of the young girl who is scared and does not yet want to be a mother, look at the thousands upon thousands of women, who were once that young girl who just wanted it to go away, dealing with the grief and regret of what they had done. I personally know women who aborted the only baby they would ever have and became barron.
The blood of all these babies is on our hands and we have never made them just GO AWAY.
They had a spirit and soul the second they were concieved and had the same right to live as any of us. They also have the same future as the rest of us...........ETERNITY.
I could go on and on about other views about pre-marital sex and adoption and such, but you only asked for my view on abortion and I gave it.

May God have Mercy on us all!
