I just need to know some info. My girlfriend's mom knows shes pregnant so thats done with. Now she wants to come live with me in my apartment. We are not sure if she will be legaly able to just get up and leave without her mom having any legal say about it. What I mean by legal is that we dont want her mom calling the police and sending her back to her mother. Any information will help. Thank you!
PS: It's a boy and HEALTHY! I couldn't be happier.

to the people saying they get mad cause i couldnt be happier, just want to say that i am happy. regardless of my age i felt like i was old enough to have sex and now im dealing with what comes with that. in this case a baby. im not going to be sad about something i did wrong. why not embrace a new life i help bring into this world? i already love my baby boy. thank you all for your advice.

Ask her mom first. My mom let me move out a month after I turned 17. I was still a virgin and obviously wasn't pregnant. She let me move in with my fiance because it was closer to school. I didn't drive yet so mom had to drive me 45 minutes so I could get to school. He only lived 5 minutes away from my school...lol. Best thing you can do is ask. She can also get emancipated if her mother says no.

Save yourself the trouble and wait a month until she is 18. Also and I don't intend this to be as mean as it sounds. WHy Why Why would you want to have a child at 18? I have 4 children ages 20 yrs to 20 months. I am also over 40. When I hear someone your age say something like I couln't be happier I just want to scream. The next few years of your life are going to be harder then you could ever imagine.

She can't just get up and leave (legally) but I doubt, because of her being so close to 18 the cops will do much about it. I live in Oklahoma and my bf moved out (or rather she kicked him out then recanted) of his mom's house when he was 17 (in Sept) and he turned 18 on Feb. 28. She called the police right after he moved out and they told her to just leave it alone and they weren't going to do **** about it. To avoid all that stuff, and stress on her and the baby I would just wait the month till she turns 18.

Try to handle it through the support system in the military before you go and hire a lawyer. The military has a great support system and they could probably find you someone to do the work for free or close to it. She is a minor so her parents are mostly within their rights. As far as signing away custody of the baby to the grandmother so that the baby can get insurance, I don't agree with that because most likely the baby could be insured through medicaid or better yet can probably get YOUR health insurance! Don't let the mother sign away the baby, she has that right. You could get it changed though. You being in the military are in a great spot because once married to can offer her what she needs... housing and insurance. Are you SURE you can't elope right now?

Her being pregnant does not change the fact that she’s a minor. Of course her mother can call the police, report her as a runaway, have her brought back home. And by the way, YOU can face consequences for taking her in. At 18 she can leave.

Congrats your on son...I think...
Kinda hard to help you out there since you didn't include your age, and where you live which can help with jurisdictional issues. It varies state to state, and even countries.

She needs to become a emancipated minor then it is legal or marry her and that will work also.
