I let my cat back in the house about 2 day ago from being outside. I was sitting on my couch when he walked over to the litter box. I noticed he was in there a long time so I glanced over and he was doing number 2, well i looked away and glanced back over really fast and I noticed right when he was done pooing, there was watery looking blood on the top. I am so freaked out. Why would there be blood on his poop? He had a tick not to long ago, maybe about 2 weeks ago that my dad had taken out himself, I wanted to take him to the vet but my dad saw it and took it out! Could this be symptoms of lymes disease?? or could it be that he just was having trouble? What should I do??

My first guess would be that his adventures outdoors have allowed her to contract an intestinal parasite.Blood in the stool--no bleeding is ever normal (unless it is coming from the reproductive organs of an intact (not spayed) female dog or cat in estrus (heat)!! But you mentioned that it is a HE, right...The blood can be a sign of stress, bacterial infections (some can be transmitted to people), parasite infestation, bleeding disorders, and many, many other causes. Please take a stool sample to the vet (must be 24 hours fresh for best diagnosis) and do not delay--this is not normal!!! I wish you the best

I don't know where you live but on the east coast deer ticks carry Lyme disease and they are VERY tiny, almost impossible to see. You would usually not notice a deer tick on an animal because they are so much smaller than regular sized ticks.

My mom's dog had Lyme disease 3 different times and watery bloody poo was not one of the symptoms we noticed. Each time she was sick, she would start having trouble walking because her joints were stiffening up. It was similar to arthritis. That was always the first noticeable symptom.

Basically, I highly doubt it's Lyme disease but it's obviously something a vet should check out anyway.

Better take him for a vet visit. But try not to get too freaked out. Intestinal issues are very common in cats. If the blood is red, that is better than black. He may have a parasite or may have gotten a small lesion from swallowing too much hair or something. One of our cats had bloody stool for about a month when we first brought him home, but it cleared up. The vet can help reassure you and give you any medicines that might be necessary. Usually it will just clear up on its own.

One of my kitties is going through the same thing right now, she's 9 months old. There isn't always blood, but I've noticed her poo is really stinky along with being a bit on the soft side.

Some people have told me it could be worms, but my kitty is negative for worms. Other people told me that it may be a reaction to the type of food she's eating. I haven't tried switching her food yet.

Take a stool sample to the vet and have it check for worms. If it's not worms, then talk to your vet and see what you can do.

I'd be interested to know what other answers you get for this.

Good luck.

Maybe your cat need vegetal oil (see your vet). He sounds constipated. he probably eat something that he is not used too and his body system is reacting. Try a little diet for a couple of days and use some vegetal oil or even 1 pill of mutamucil (drop the stuff among his food). Your cat forced himself.
However if you see this happening again, go to your vet for a check up or even call him now. Better safe right? :)

You should really take it to the vet. If it is an outside cat you never know. He could have caught something from outside.

If you're concerned about his movement, take a sample (and him) down to the vet's office. But be sure to get a sample in a small jar.

not the tick
If you are rich and would die if something happened then the vet.
Personally, I would wait and see. (meaning its probably nothing)
