The Marquis, Layfatte sailed out of France and brought with eleven other men who wanted to fight for freedom in America. Congress met in Philidalphia and approved Layfatte and some of the others but not all of them to join the army.

More than 11 but I added the aides, adjutants and Mr Brice. Most of the officers also had titles, and spellings refelect both American and French histories,

i vaguely remember this in history class. god that was like 30 years ago. did they not eventually drowned in a sub? sorry if i am wrong.
