Do you mean moisturizer? No as long as you find one that's suitable for your skin type. It's never bad to moisturize even if you have acne especially if the weather at your place is really dry! Now that causes even more skin problems, not only acne.

Um it can be because most lotions are oil based and add to the problem by clogging the pores, but i notice that with the medicines that I take, if I don't use lotion my face is full of dry skin, the lotion that I found that works best for me is Look Ma, New Hands by Bath and Body works, I don't use a lot of it, but the medicines dry me out too much to use it. If you don't get dried out don't use lotions, but if you do, ask your dermatologist about low oil lotions they have good ones that work well with the acne meds.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://acnehomesolution.com/index.html that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Use lotion or creams with "Salic Acid" in it. All other lotions will increase the oil, which is what attracts dirt and gave you the acne, pimples, and zits in the first place!!

Try Johnsons & Johnsons "Clean & Clear" Moisturizer. It's non oily, and GREAT for winters.

GoodLuck!

No its not bad.. it's about what type of lotion you use. You don't want to use an oily lotion or one that makes your face feel greasy.

in a way, yeah, if you use greasy type of lotion on your face, you acne becomes worsen. Try using light lotion with alpha-hydroxy such as Neutrogena brand it works for me.

it depends:
lotions that are oil-free and hypoallerdermic will not increase acne breakouts because they do not add extra oil or other ingredients that trigger breakouts. it also depends on the person's skin: how oily it normally is and/or sensitivity.
check the label carefully to find the right one for you.
also, it helps to use an oil-free moisturizer made especially for your face.
