put 2 Tblsp honey, 1 Tblsp vinegar, 1Tblsp lemon juice in a cup & mix. warm in the microwave & drink. You can add a pinch of salt to the honey mixture This is for you cough. You need to cough up the mucus. I took antibiotics plus the honey mixture, a singilare at bed time, allegra, bee pollen, potassium pills, nasal spray or wash, nebulizer, put a poltice on my chest & back, eat chicken noodle soup, and a vitamin. You can spray the pillow case that is on the pillow you sleep on with vinegar & it will help you if you have asthma.
I have heard that there is a new strain of bronchitis going around and the Doctors don't know what to do for it.

If you've taken medication to loosen phlegm, and nothing has happened, then it's more than likely your sinuses. When your sinuses drain into the back of your throat, it causes one to cough. My son is asthmatic, and this happens to him every time he gets a cold. Try a antihistamine for a couple of days ... and if this doesn't work to dry up your sinuses, you probably have a sinus infection. If so, you'll have to see a doctor ... as you will need a prescription for an antibiotic. Hope you feel better soon ...

It sounds like you are having a terrible time. My sympathies are with you. My husband and I cough a lot here in San Antonio, Texas...it is the allergy capital of the world! Our sinuses are always inundated with something...the post-nasal drip makes for a lot of coughing.
Dear, try mixing a teaspoon of fennel seed with a teaspoon of ground thyme. Add a cup of boiling water and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Add some maple syrup or molasses to sweeten, if desired after you have strained out the fennel and thyme. (I save the strained herbs for use in subsequent cups of my cough tea.) You may add a tablespoon of brandy or rum to help you sleep, if you wish. Drink this tea every 2 hours at least if your cough keeps bothering you. You can even mix the herbal dregs of thyme and fennel seed with some molasses and maple syrup and make an elixer, too, if you wish.
I like to drink this tea in a nice, steamy shower. I'll put some pine/spearmint oils on a washcloth and on the side of the tub to create a wonderful steam to clear the cough, also. The combination of the tea, the steam and the pine/spearmint are wonderful to give the cough the one-two punch.
Good luck, dear. Hope you feel better soon!

this seems to be going around. several people have told me how they just can't quit the coughing. the mucinex is a good idea but lots of water is good also. and propping up on pillows at night will help you rest. and of course the good ole doc could prescribe a cough med and if needed an antibiotic.

I dont know, but I just wanted to warn you. I read an article today where vicks vapor rub almost killed an 18 month old little girl. Its very dangerous to use for children under two. Your son may be older, I dont know...but just in case I thought the info was worth passing on. In any case, I hope your little one feels better soon!
