Namaste. I once saw a video of a Sikh Yogi, that hypnotized a whole room of his devotees. Maybe, it was because they were devoted to him. But, I also went into a trance. At the beginning of the video, the Yogi just set there, looking into the eyes of his devotees. And finally gazing into the camera. The Yogi would end his sentences with an "Ommm" sound. During the talk, he would slowly close and open his eyes, when he looked into the camera. Just before he hypnotized everyone, he told them he was going to do it; and he then continued his talk, about another subject. A few moments later, he suddenly said "Go to sleep!Take a nap! Go deep into yourselves!" and kept repeating the word "Sleep". I think this was all very hypnotic. But then, I've also read there are Sadhus that can hypnotize whole crowds of people. That is, put them into meditative states. And without saying a word. How is this possible? Thanks for your help.

Actually it is rather easy when one has years of training and practice. I have studied clinical hypnosis as used in medicine and mental health treatment. I was part of a room of maybe 200 people who were all put into a trance by our speaker who was talking about as you say "another subject" and I heard him doing it and went into trance just the same. There are methods. One of the great teachers of the subject could hypnotize anyone, even with just a handshake. That is rather cool to watch. It can also be dangerous in the wrong hands, that is why all legitimate schools will not train anyone who does not have at least a Masters Degree in one of the helping professions. I can hypnotize up to 10 people at a time, but that is my limit. As to the Sadhus, there are certain sounds that can put one into a relaxed meditation, or alpha brain wave pattern.

Demonic------then "bowing them over" with a glance or a wave of the hand--is called a SHAKTI PAT.
