Time for a history lesson--- back before there was a USA there was this period of time where as it was perfectly normal for girls as young as 12 to be betrothed and married and expected to have children. The reason why this was ok was because a. people were poor and getting rid of their daughters to some1 was perfectly normal so they would have extra food in the house and b. The life span of people back then was not what we see today... I believe that the average lifespan was somewhere around 40 or so.
Anyways... Now-a-days we are a "supposedly" a more sophisticated and knowledgeable race of beings- and realize that children need to be children, and that a 12 year old does not have the psychological coping mechanisms as a full grown adult does, nor do they have the capacity to make well thought out desicions. So, to answer your question.. just because its there doesn't mean you HAVE to take advantage of it. This was built into the human genome long before you were even thought about- more like a survival mechanism then anything else.

I'll read it later, but here's some things Light skin is better than dark skin If you're dark skin, you are ugly and should bleach You're hair is nappy so you need a perm If you're light skin, then you have "good" hair Black men don't like them Biracial people are better Just some things from the top of my head. These are all VERY wrong. these are because of brain wash, the media and start from a young age. Upbringing has abig influence on it too. Luckily for me I was never affected by this at all. Thanks Mom EDIT: I read it and this is one of the few question that this section should actually ask. I agree 99.9%. The last paragraph isn't really right because alot of white women get plastic surgery so if they were raised to think they were beatiful then they wouldn't get anything fixed, but I can agree on the rest of the paragraph though. It's really sad how some people view black girls. Most of us aren't even like that, but the media makes it seem like it's all of us. Also look at pictures of Rihanna. She has a wide nose and full lips and she is still considered pretty though, but she is light skin. Also, I do have curly hair, but what's wrong with nappy hair or kinky as I like to call it? It grows out instead of down and it has alot of volume. There are many hairstyles you can do too. This isn't the media's fault fully. It has more to do with upbringing and how thier parents teach them. If we were more educated about our hair, then maybe there wouldn't be sooo many black girls who relax it because whether they admit it or not they hate it. Truly sad too. There should be more Jessica White's in the world. She is dark skin and sooo pretty and she's full AA. This is a beaty standard too: Big eyes( Usually Indians have) Thinner nose (Usually whites have) and Full lips (Usually black people have) There are some modifications to it because there are pretty girls who don't have these too. People need to be more educated on ALL black features, not just the ones they thing is ugly to them. Helllo, East Africans? Sub-Saharan Africans? Most people don't even know anything about our diversity. It is not one-sided.

At one point in history, people only lived for about 30 years, so getting pregnant at twelve was almost middle-aged.
Also, for several centuries in-between, girls couldn't get pregnant until they were about 15 or 16, which was considered old enough to marry. It's only recently that puberty has begun starting so early again.

Because your body is not ready to support a growing baby. But it is preparing you for womanhood. Look back in time a bit when it was common to be married off at twelve and start having children right away, those women did not live long and often died during childbirth, why because their body couldn't handle it.

any time after you start having your period, you can get pregnant. Enjoy your life, if you must have sex, be responsible. No Glove-No love!!!! Take the pill. But better abstain until you are old enough to support children, or marry a good man who will support you and the children.
SAFE SEX-SAFE SEX!!!!!!!

Just because a girl starts her period, doesn't mean her body is ready. It's just preparing and there is still alot of growing to do.
