im 34 F indian( although lived in us for 15 years. Im an emergency room physician and a Brahmin . My dad is an oncologist. I recently left my parents home where i lived and moved in with my boyfriend. I met him 4 months ago at a nightclub in NYC. He deals crystal meth and coke and just got out of prison 6 mos ago after doing 4 years for attempted murder. We rented an apartment in the south bronx which i pay for. He has recently gotten a job doing data entry for $9.00 an hour. I just dumped my old bf a few months ago. He is a dr too and i stupidly called him and told him that my new bf got me smoking crystal meth and doing coke. He called my parents and now theyre pissed and dont want me back in the house anymore. Look im 34, young and still look good. Im a good dr too. Im only doing meth and coke and I told my parents i had to beg him in order for him letting me start. How can i get my parents to lay off, respect my bf and let me enjoy life while i can

I don't understand what your parents problem would be. Only coke and crystal meth. Seems like you got yourself a winner.

first of all its only crystal meth and coke can lead to other things. i know from personal experience because my brother did drugs. it took him years and a death of a friend before he got to the place in his life before he decided to quit. i can understand why your parents dont like him. hes a bad influence on your life and probably has or will have you doing things you wouldnt have normally. your parents are only trying to protect you. did you know if the police knew you and your bf were doing drugs and followed you to your parents house they could take everything they own just because you showed up there. drugs are bad and get you into alot of trouble. another thing if your a doctor you should know these things and you should know that it can be affecting your job and you could lose it if the right people found out. you need to think about where your priorities lie and how these are and can affect your life.

For an apparently intelligent person with a good job (as you appear to be), I cannot understand why you'd feel that doing meth and coke w/an ex-con is nothing for your parents to worry about!!

Frankly I'd be worried, too, if I were your parents!! It sounds as if you've found yourself a real "winner" (sarcasm, by the way). Why would you want to screw up your life by being involved w/this guy?I think you'll find that the attraction is going to wear off and you may find yourself w/a bigger problem (drug addict).

All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to worry about you being my Dr. As far as your parents, they don't have to accept him, your the one stuck with him not them.
Have you noticed how poor your grammar is for a college educated person? Could that be drug related???
