Three in one. Think of it like this, an apple has a skin, a body, and a core. Each part serves serves a different purpose, but it is the same apple. God is the same way, he is one being, but he has different parts for different purposes. This may leave you rather confused, but its very difficult to understand something bigger than you. We are finite (limited) and he is infinite. Logically therefore we can't contain him. This analogy is the best I ever heard it explained. This view is accepted by all *major* denominations, Catholic, Presbyterian, Babtist, etc.

This said, the concept of a Holy Trinity is a theological assumption that most Christians choose to make. The Bible refers to God in many many different names. "El shadai, Jehova, I am, the Father, etc" Some people believe that these are just different names for different actions that God has made.

Hope I could help, I'm done updating my answer ;) Feel free to contact me, my email link is on my profile.

The Trinity is the teaching that there is only one God who exists as three simultaneous and eternal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. By "person" is meant the characteristics of self awareness, speech, having a will, emotions, etc. Therefore, there are three persons. The Father is not the same person as the Son; the Son is not the same person as the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the same person as Father as each of them have a will and speak to each other and to people. They are not three separate gods and are not three separate beings. They are three distinct persons; yet, they are all the one God. They are in absolute perfect harmony consisting of one substance. They are coeternal, coequal, and copowerful. If any one of the three were removed, there would be no God.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" -Matt. 28:19. The fact of the Trinity is supported throughout the Bible. The preceding verse is but one example. Note the singular use of the word "name", not plural. God is one Being revealed in three Persons throughout Scripture from Genesis Chapter 1 to Revelation.

Yes they are. It's in the Bible. I know it's hard to understand and to try to explain to someone.

Have you typed it in as a search? Father, Son and Holy Ghost are one or you could type Trinity or Holy Trinity or explination of the trinity.

No. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three distinct persons in one God. (See the Bible for Trinitarian baptism formula: Mathew 28:19 Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, ) See, salvation is not possible in the absent of one person of the Godhead.

A Trinitarianism section will help you understand how the Trinitarian concept of God was developed. Please stay with an open mind.

Three people, working together in one frame of mind. The Father is not the Father unless He has a Son, and the Son is not a son without the Father. The three work together in unity.

Here are some scriptures that support the Trinity:

Jesus said in John 10:30 ‘I and My Father are one.’

Jesus saud in John 17:21 ‘that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.’

1 John 5:7 ‘For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word (Jesus, Son of God), and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one’.

Matthew 28:19 ‘Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,’

In Matt 28:19 baptizing in one name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit confirms three in one belief.
