Will salons use dye you bring?

Question

Im think about dyeing my hair like with black on top and red or white or some other color on bottom. Like diffrent color layers.

And I was wondering if I could take the colors I want to a salon and they'll do my hair so it comes out nice and professional.

I want a punk/goth/emo sort of look and want it to come out nice.

So does any one know if salons will color hair using dye that you bring in?

as a professional stylist, i have had clients bring in their own color, and have even taken off say $5 off the service. it is up to the stylist and the salon. i am a booth rental independent contractor and also manage the salon for the owner, so i can do what i want pretty much. so when you call and make the appt just ask first. i would think places like JcPenny salon and etc wouldn't allow that, for legal reasons. you have a better shot getting it done at a regular salon/spa that is privately owned. good luck, sounds really cool.

Yes, some of them will.

Try to find a smaller family owned salon, they will be more willing to.

Some big chains will require you to either use their products or pay the cost of what you would to buy theirs.

No i work in a salon and the only time they will is if you say you have a allergic reaction then they will

I would say probably not. They have the supplies there for you to use. If you're thinking you're going to save money, then I doubt it. You're also paying for their work. If you want it looking nice and professional then let the professional do it their way. Just let them know exactly what you want, and bring a picture if you have one. Thats important.

No, most salons won't use your colours cos' they have their own supplies. what your paying for is the salon time and stylist, not products alone.
