He is far too young to take with you. If you were getting him from a reputable breeder, there is no way they would let them go before the age of 8 weeks. Read up on the subject! You're of the right mentality to have such a dangerous dog......STUPID

A resounding NO NO NO NO NO from me. Puppies generally nurse until anywhere from 4-6 weeks depending on the breed. However, they should remain with their mother until they are at least 7 1/2 weeks of age.
Mother dogs will not do any sort of discipline to the pups until they are at least 6 weeks old. Between 6 and 8 weeks, mom teaches them what is acceptable and unacceptable dog behavior. They are also learning from their littermates how hard they can bite without causing undue pain. A very important bit of knowledge, especially in a pitbull!!!
Any puppies removed from their mother before 7 weeks of age are at serious risk of severe behavioral problems and aggression later in life.
Any breeder promoting taking a puppy at 3 weeks of age is a real piece of work and should be avoided like the plague!!!

no. pups are still nursing off their mothers at 3 weeks. their eyes have just opened and should never be removed from their mother that early unless there is an unforseen reason, such as the mother's sick. puppies should stay with their mother's and littermates until 6-7 weeks of age, but really it's better if they can stay until around 8-10 weeks. then the mother has a chance to teach them manners and the dog way. also the littermates help in presocializing the pup with other dogs. also you can get a better look and feel for this pup's temperment at an older age. right now they are all pretty much the same. eat and sleep.

No!!! Puppies aren't weaned from the mother yet at this age. Not to mention that most state laws require puppies to be at least 7 weeks old before they can be adopted. The person you are getting the puppy from can get into some serious trouble for that.

NO! And I would not take a puppy from anyone who is offering them that younge. If anything, the litter should stay together until they are 12-16 weeks of age to learn appropriate socialization and play, however more "breeders" are out there to make money and sell them off at 6-8 weeks of age so they don't have to pay for vaccines. At what ever age you get your dog, puppy classes are essential!!! Your puppy must learn bite inhibition and this is especially important for this breed! Take you puppy to puppy classes, obedience training and work with it daily. Pit bulls need to be worked and need stimulation or they can get bored and become destructive/aggressive.
Most important - NEUTER YOUR PUPPY!!!!!

no you need to wait till the puppy is 6 to 8 weeks old. It should not be taken from it's mother that young....just wait it's only afew more weeks. Take good care of it when you do get it....I own a pitbull and as you know they all get the short end of the stick. Treat it good, never hit it, and you will have a loyal companion....

Puppies are still nursing at this time, which is very crucial to their nutrition and growth. You should wait until at least 8 weeks. If you want to get him sooner 7 weeks is ok. When you receive the puppy he should already be on puppy food and not depending on his mother to nurse him. Good luck.
