Is the a way to add a watermark to a picture without having to buy a program to do it?

use windows paint program and use the color picker tool to select colors, then use those colors as the text you want to write/watermark.

No good answers above so I will try.

In photoshop and other software you are able to use the type and transparency tool at the same time.

So type in you copyright like you want it and then make almost transparent so it is not a distraction of the photo.

It is that simple!
