I froze the motor and cracked the block and what to know what vehicles have the same 4.0 L inline 6, that will bolt up with out any modifications and still pass smog and be C A.. legal

just the jeep 4.0 will bolt up to it,,there should be plenty of those around though,,you need to try a few good salvage yards ,they probably got a few good ones,,id put a 4.0 back in it,,why change a good thing you know,,good luck hope this help,s.

The Jeep Camanche pickups had the same motors, along with some Cherokee's...otherwise a 5.2 liter (318) will bolt up..as will a 5.9(360)..but there will need to be a change of motor mounts(not too tough) and a different radiator(again, not too tough)

nicely the 4.0 replaced into used in maximum all jeeps.. from the early eighty's to 2005 present in Jeep Grand Cherokee's reg Cherokees and interior the Wrangler's so looking a good used one should not be a prob.

I put a small block chevy V-8 in my 96 Grand Cherokee. Worked great and saved me a bundle... there are so many more available for so much less. I did have to remove the brake master cylinder to make it fit.

Dodge man's right ( as usual ) stick with the 4L they are great motors and you already have some spare parts
