How do I deal with the pain? If it is an anal fissure or hemerrhoids? It doesnt hurt all the time, periodically. When im laying down its fine, only when I move a certain way it hurts. The pain started at 5 pm its now almost 12.

None of us will be able to tell you for sure. Even a tech can't tell you without looking. If you think the pain is unbearable or if you're worried, you should call your doctor's office/HMO. They usually have an advisor, answering service, or triage nurse on duty after hours. That nurse will call you back, assess you, and can let you know what will help you out, as well as telling you whether or not you need to go to the hospital, whether your doctor has early morning visit hours that don't require appointment, and can calm you down. Check your HMO card or call your doctor's office---you'll feel better just for calling.

Four things help relieve the pain - Preparation H suppositories, soaking you bum in warm Epsom salt baths, dabbing your bum with witch hazel wipes (there is a Preparation H product for this). The fourth thing is to gently push back into place any tissues that are sticking out, while sitting in the Epsom salt bath. These things can take several weeks to heal completely.

Buy some preparation H at the drug store , this will help ease the pain and shrink swollen membranes which cause the pain .

if it's that painful. you will probably be in pain for a few more days. about all you can do is drink plenty of liquid and get some ointment.
