yes. just have them put you to sleep. it will be sore for a few days, they will give you pills. take a couple of days for recovery. don't smoke or drink from a straw. any kind of sucking will cause the blood clots to come out and it will be very painful. it is actually less painful than a lot of other dental procedures. good luck.

Depends what kind of oral surgery you will had. I had several tooth extractions and frenolectomy done, so I have a bit of experience on that subject. If you're asleep suring the procedure, it won't hurt and you will be medicated when you wake up, and then you'll have some meds to take every few hours, so you will only have a mild pain for the first few days, or until you're out of meds. Depending where the surgery is, your jaw may be stiff, you may get blood rushed to the head if you bend over, your cheeks may be a bit swollen, your tongue may hurt to move (eat and swallow) but you will heal within a week or two. If you can't eat solid, make sure to eat good soft things that will keep your energy up. Good luck!

I had 2 wisdom teeth removed a few years ago. The surgery was really no big deal. The first day or two were kinda crappy, but shortly there after I was back to normal. Honestly, the worst part was only being able to eat soup and "soft" foods for the first little while. But, the surgeon will give you pain medicine that will make evvvvvvvvvverything fine, just fine.

First off, calm down. I had it done. I was given a local anesthetic, (I opted not to be put to sleep). You are numb and don't feel a thing. You just have to be careful not to spit forcefully, suck through a straw or smoke within the first 48 hours or you could lose the clot and develop a dry socket. The first day after the surgery, you will feel pain. You can take the pain pills or advil.
The second day and the third day is much better. It is scary, but relax, I kept playing over in my mind what it would be like before and it was so quick and easy. I was pleasantly surprised. Good luck, you will be just fine.

yeah i did. i had all four taken out at once. it wasn't bad. i just don't numb easily so i had to get a few shots in my mouth near each tooth and i had to have an I.V. drip. it was so cool. I didn't remember anything during the surgery other than having to be picked up and strapped to the chair cause i kept falling out of it. I was loopy. I didn't have much of an appetite so i didn't irritate my gums by chewing and the vikadin made me sleep about sixteen hours a day off and on for about three. By the time i really came to, i was in little to no pain. i hate medicine and drugs but that was pretty cool. Just make sure you have someone that doesn't mind catering to you and having to intrerpret your jibber jabber. You'll be fine. And when you get nervous. think about me falling out of the chair cross-eyed. LOL.

XOXO- hope this helps.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out at the same time. When I told people I was getting them out they made such a big deal that I was kinda scared. But after it happened it was no big deal. If you take vicodin you can't feel a thing.

Oh it's a piece of cake. I had one of the best surgeons in Los Angeles....so I basically was completely fine until I screwed it up and didn't listen to his instructions...I started eating regular food within hours...and I infected my wounds but was later put on antibiotics for it...

After that it was all good...

i had mine removed by an oral surgeon. It was great. They use better meds than a regular dentist. I had no pain and no complications.

For everyone here giving the "thumbs down" for people who say it's going to hurt:
GET SNAPPED BACK INTO ******** REALITY.

Pulling widsom teeth is a real pain. You get painkillers. Percodan if you're lucky.
And you'll be fine.
but it DOES hurt.
