Yes most people do if they valued that relationship at all.
This doesn't mean that he may be a bad person but it does give you a valid reason to ask more questions.
Before you go out...get references. Does he have family in the area? Would he give you a phone number to call and who would it be? Tell him you are just being cautious and will not betray any trust.
If he is legit and just wants to meet you he will have no problem with that. If he refuses to give you any body to contact and maybe even get mad about you asking.......say thank you goodbye.
Actually he should have no problem with anything you ask him as long as it isn't too personal. So just ask more questions...find out more about him and even if you get a good feeling about him meet him only in a very busy place. At least for the first ten times.
Yes this is your father talking. LOL
One big red flag is that if he will not answer a question or gets mad about your questions it is time to back off and get to know him a lot better through on-line only. And never ever let him know where you are....even phone number.....until after your first meeting at the very least.
He may be fine and just has a poor memory about something like that. But never take a chance you don't need to.

It pretty much depends on how long it took for the divorce to be final. He may have been talking about how long he had been "unemcumberd" which would be longer than the actual divorce. I was "estranged" from my ex husband for the last 5 years of our marriage, then we were legally seperated for four years before the divorce was final. Been legally divorced for 2 years...so altogether it has been 11 years...That COULD be sort of what he is talking about...You might want to ask him when you meet him...As far as Eharmony goes though...ewwwwww

yeah that is pretty shady., but u know what it probaly because the divorce he went through was maybe a little hard for him so he is trying to block it out. I don't know what to say except just see what kind of person he is on the date before u judge by the way he going about on the his divorce. Don't be worried because in life u have to experience every aspect and not be scared because of one little thing

That is NOT a good sign! Either he has a seriously deficient memory, or his marriage and wife weren't important enough to him to remember that little tidbit of information. If he can't even remember how many years he was married, do you think he'd bother to remember other things like your birthday or your favorite color/flower/food? Run the other way. There are plenty of other guys out there.

That is odd, but don't let it worry you. Just be careful, have fun and get to know the guy. Men are funny with numbers. They probably divorced because he forgot their wedding anniversary one too many times.

The first thought that crossed my mind was, maybe he was too drunk during those years to remember. Lol, but I could be wrong, maybe he's just not the type for anniversaries and things...

Men are notorious for not remembering dates, anniversaries etc.
Relax, judge him for something more important
