A lot of black people tell me they can't deal with their hair. That's fine but rather than to relax it WHY NOT JUST GOOGLE YOUR HAIR TYPE AND FIND OUT WHAT'S BEST? I do it all the time. I had trouble dealing with my virgin extremely curly hair but after finding tips and products I could use, it's ok now. There are so many resources on curly, kinky, wavy and straight hair that that excuse doesn't work anymore.

Some people aren't as resourceful as you. I hear the white parents of mixed children say this a lot. The internet is loaded with all sorts of useful information. Pass the word, hopefully you can make a difference.

I'm trying to understand your question... it sounds more like you're venting. Some people relax their hair because they don't have time to deal with too many procedures, if you will, and find it a quick alternative. Some just enjoy their hair straighter, while others relax their hair for manageability. Googling your hair type is not as easy as it sounds, as I don't believe that anyone could give you precise advice without physically seeing and/or touching your hair. Best bet is to seek the advice of a professional with tons of experience with curly or coarse hair.
One very important thing about any hair, no matter it's texture, is CLEANSE, MOISTURIZE, TRIM AND KEEP A HEALTHY DIET. This may seem far too simple, but tried and true. Keep your scalp clean, keep the hair cuticle well moisturized, trim your ends regularly and eat properly (drink lots of water, eat your veggies and friut, get plenty of sleep and stay away from saturated fats).

I agree, thats one reason Im so proud of being black, we are the only race that can create and do many styles to our hair.....theres no excuse for complaining of how nappy it is or whatever.....its 2007! you can do basically anything to your hair now....so go on the internet explore, thats what its for!

what black people are you talking to? I have never heard that said because your hair is your hair. You learn what type of hair you have and the best way to do it when you are young.
