I took advis quite heavily to try to calm the pain I was having with some major kidney stone problems. Since I'm nursing a baby that's all I can take. It made my stools pretty bloody, and it went away once I was done taking the meds. This was about a month ago. Now, I took an 800mg pill for some pain I was having in my arm. I only took it for one day, but since then for about 4 days now I have sharp pains in my stomache and have extremely runny stools all day every day and into the night! Why the heck does this do this to me? Does it do the same to anyone else?

Stop taking ibuprofen.. (active ingredient in Advil) is has begun to do serious damage to your body. You need to communicate this to your Dr. as well, as soon as possible. There have to be tests performed to determine the damage. Ibuprofen, as well as asperin if taken over time can damage the kidneys, galbladder, and your liver. These are well known interactions. Please see your doctor immediately, although I would not suggest going to the ER. Call your doctors' office first thing in the morning.

Hi Laula, The other week i had severe pain in my lower abdomen, exactly how you describe (under flab in lower belly) and i couldn't breathe in or out either. I had to call NHS direct and go to out patients they did a urine sample and found out i had a bad bladder infection. i was a bit dubious as to whether they had made the right diagnosis as i had no burning when i peed etc, but i took antibiotics and my urine test came back as normal so it must have been. I would phone NHS direct and get an outpatients appointment for After work, in the mean time take some Nurophen or co-codimal to ease the pain. Second to that if the pain continues go to see your GP and they should book you in for a an ultrasound (that's what iv got coming up) it could well be a cyst if it's not a UTI. Good luck! x

If your stool is black and tarry looking or has the appearance of coffee grounds or you have thrown up anything that looks like coffee grounds go directly too the Dr. Advil and other aspirin related drugs carry warning labels about gastric-intestinal irritation. Sounds like you have a bad case of this. The symptoms I mentioned are all signs of gastric-intestinal bleeding. You really ought to consider talking to your Dr. before taking anymore of these drugs. If the pain in your stomach persists you need to call him/her anyway. Good luck!

I would stay away from advil and see your doctor. It could be causing a serious stomach and intestinal issue. It's never good to have blood in stools. And if you've been taking it and having pain in your stomach there's something serious going on. you could have burned a hole in your stomach.
