Try to stick to low fat foods. Make sure to eat protein and fruit and vegetables and high fiber breads at every meal. example:
Breakfast-
2 scrambled eggs and whole wheat toast and fruit and a glass of fat free milk.

Lunch-
turkey sandwich on Whole wheat bread w/ lettuce and tomatoe ( light on the mayo) and a piece of fruit. drink Fat free milk

Dinner-
chicken, a veggie or salad or soup( not cream based) whole wheat roll.

the protein and high fiber foods keep you full longer and the veggies add volume.
Good Luck!

I have learned that protien is the key. A diet low in protien is a diet headed for disaster. No matter what you eat, be sure to suppliment it with protien. Don't ever cut out carbohydrates, or fats, just reduce them. You are on the right track with your exercise plan. Just be sure to keep protien high on the list. Extra weight doesn't just appear on your body, and it doesn't just disappear when you're trying to lose it. Crash diets are not healthy, so don't even think about a crash diet. They might be cool for people interested in "fad" diets or fast weight loss, but your body will react to the sudden change. Once you get back to normal, your body will put the weight back on. Slowly change your lifestyle and see the long term difference.
One more thing that is crucial..... go to bed hungry. If you eat within 3 hours before hitting the sack, your body will be burning that food while you are sleeping, instead of the stored fat in your body. Go to bed hungry.

Pack a lunch and bring it to school if your school doesn't offer healthy food. Keep away from anything that is over processed. Apples, bananas, water and a lean meat sandwich on brown bread with a yogurt or granola bar. If you are running you will need energy.
