BOTH ARE PRETTY GOOD

FIREFOX IS JUST A BIT FASTER

THIS IS WHAT THE ANNUAL REVIEW SAYS---

^^^QUOTED---

"For years, Microsoft Internet Explorer has enjoyed near dominance of the Web browser space--but not any more. Since the release last year of Mozilla Firefox 1.5, Firefox has been steadily eroding Internet Explorer's claim of superiority. According to information from NetApplications.com, in October 2004 Internet Explorer had 92 percent of the market; in September 2005 that dropped to 86 percent; and as of September 2006 Internet Explorer's market share dropped to 82 percent, with Firefox's rising to 12.5 percent. In two years Microsoft ceded 10 percent of its audience to its competition.

There are fancy little flourishes in both browsers (IE has page zoom; Firefox has a spelling checker), but the big news in new browser features right now is RSS reading. Both browsers recognize when a page has an RSS feed, and both will parse XML and display a readable page instead of code when they see it.

Firefox does a much better job of managing feeds: It will let you subscribe in Firefox's own reader, which awkwardly makes bookmarks of headlines, or in Google, Bloglines, Yahoo, or any reader application you have on your PC. IE will subscribe itself only to feeds, and it doesn't display RSS content as reliably as Firefox.

The two browsers both look very good. IE 7 is a bit slicker than Firefox, and it takes more chances with the interface, pushing the standard menu items off to the side. It may take users a few moments to learn where everything is, but it is a thoughtful redesign.Firefox doesn't have a radical visual refresh, but it does have some new UI features, such as a "word wheel" in the search bar. Firefox destroys IE in the extension and plug-in department. There are hundreds of tools for Firefox to enable all manner of customizing. IE has extensions too, but not like Firefox.

Firefox 2 still rules the browser roost for now, despite a much improved version of Internet Explorer. The most obvious new feature for IE 7 (tabs) has been in Firefox forever, and the security additions from Microsoft aren't enough for us to allay concerns over new possible exploits. Lastly, the extensibility of Firefox 2 is its knockout punch, and IE's add-ons cannot compare. The flexibility and customizability of Firefox might be best suited to more advanced Web users, but it has earned its spot at the top of the browsers."
..END

Firefox is better

With IE 6 & 7 it is very easy to steal your ID
http://secunia.com/Internet_Explorer_Arbitrary_Content_Disclosure_Vulnerability_Test/

Both IE 6 & 7 rely on ActiveX for some features to work, although in the new IE it is not turned on by default, it is still integrated in the browser and could be a security risk. Without ActiveX some features may not work properly in IE 6 & 7
Here is what Microsoft has to say about ActiveX in Internet Explorer

"An ActiveX control can be an extremely insecure way to provide a feature...From the moment a user downloads an ActiveX control, the control may be vulnerable to attack..."
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/components/activex/security.asp
(Firefox does not have or need ActiveX at all)

Firefox also supports webstandards much better than IE 6 & 7

Here is rundown by c/net

All these other reviewers agree with c/net that Firefox is the all around better browser

Since IE-7 has decided to have many of the same tab features, etc, as Firefox, I guess it might be Firefox because they've had the time to get the bugs worked out. Frankly, having used both, I don't really have much of a preference personally.

All other advantages of Firefox aside, consider this. I switched to Firefox 3 years ago and in those 3 years have not received one single email offering me breast enlargement, have not ever been offered a larger penis in 30 days, and my computer has crashed (more frozen like Antarctica) exactly once. No spam, no irritations, all good - that is Firefox. I feel so sorry for those who are not yet enlightened and still use miserable crummy ie.

I easily have both put in at this very second :D. Firefox supposedly is safer. a good number of folk use IE, which also potential a good number of viruses are centred for IE. Firefox enables me to receive and open zip records (i don't have Winzip) and has a neat and tidy receive window that pops up even as ever you acquire something. the recent variations of both browsers have a Tab characteristic, which i extremely love, yet in IE each so often pop united statesare extra up in a sparkling window (it truly is stressful), while in Firefox it consistently comes up as a sparkling tab (a minimum of, it truly is the way it truly is for mine). considering IE use is extra well-known, some web content might want to not artwork in Firefox, yet you may consistently open IE actual quick to browse the area. accepted, i love Firefox extra effective ^^..

Firefox, IE 7 is basically a clone of firefox. I've been using fire fox for the past few years and I haven't had any trojans or other crap associated with IE 6 and below.

I actually prefer Firefox over IE 7. It's better built and way much more protection. It has the folowing add-ons as well, such as no ad and add block and just to name a few - has lots of add ons that IE 7 does not have. I love firefox a lot and even stumble upon, a neat add-on!

Firefox is much safer and than Internet explorer, due to the fact that it is less open to spyware and adware, malicious software that makes your computer slow.

Browsing the Internet with Internet Explorer exposes your computer to these types of software, simply by browsing the internet. This is because IE is not as well written as Firefox and because it is installed with almost every computer that is bought in a store, so it is what most people use. Since most people use it, it is targeted by the writers of this harmful software who wish to use your computer as a spam/pornbot or sell you something.

Both browsers can delete history, but only Firefox can easilly block images. In other words, both browsers have a porn hider, but only Firefox has porn blocker.

From a technical standpoint, something users are not aware of, IE7 is nine years behind web standards. This means web coders can't use newer developments which are readily available on all other browsers. IE7 cannot even properly produce some codes which were developed in 1998. This is a very large headache for web coders who must write standard code which won't work in IE7 so they must create "hacks" to make it work in IE, both 6 and 7.

The life of a web developer would be substantially easier if no one would use IE. Web technologies could then advance at a substantial pace.

Firefox is the best!!! It takes keywords and it can automatically delete you history and cookies when you close the browser. Its so much better than IE7. IE7 is only differnt in the way that it looks.
