I understand your concern and how bad it feels to know you might not see someone you love in the afterlife, but you will be completely at peace whether it happens or not. You won't see anyone who was an athiest when they passed in the kingdom of God, but you will see those who were athiests and became believers. If one does not believe their entire life, but accepts Jesus the minute before they die, they will enter God's presence, but only He will know if they became a true believer or just decided they didn't want to chance it. The amount of sin you've had in your life is not the factor that will determine your fate, it will be whether or not one has accepted Jesus as their Savior. There are so many people who think of being good/bad as what matters or what should matter in whether or not we go to Heaven. My opinion is that you could be the most amazing, kind-hearted and giving person in the world, but why should God allow anyone to enter HIS Kingdom if they don't believe in Him? He created it! I hope this helps some (and when I say "you" I just mean people in general).

hey
um...when God gave us choices n free will, he gave us the right to choose religion. if an atheist is rejected if they lived their lives right, then all those with the not-right religion will be rejected too. if muslim is the right then everyone else would be rejected. if christian was the right, same goes. just as if judiasm was the right.even if a small local religion was the right theneveryone would be cast into the 'lake of fire'. so, just hope your friend lives the life of a 'saint' which is live by love...if you understand. atheist is just another religion and we all learn what is 'truth' after death. live as a saint, live in the afterlife as a saint...we all have a choice here on earth

Yes. If they had a change in heart, God will accept them into the Kingdom of Heaven. This tells you about the grace of God.
The gift of salvation is open to everyone who wants it, including former atheists who acknowledge and ask for it in the last minutes of their lives.

No, you won't find any atheists in Heaven. Your time is now to help your family member come to Christ. The very best thing you can do is pray and then go talk to him. He must have faith to enter into Heaven and that is all. It is free. Please don't wait. It doesn't matter what he did during his lifetime. Find out why he is an atheist and start there. He probably doesn't understand Christ so he rejects Him. I will pray for you and him. If you need help please go to a pastor as it is better that several encourage him than one.

I think that anyone who claims to know the will of God is a liar.
Though my opinion on the matter, if the lord of creation thinks along the lines that I do, is that you will be judged by your works, not what words that you said. For a benevolent athiest to be condemned would be as much a travesty as a believer who paid lip service and never acted on his words being admitted into the better half of the hereafter.

No there will be absolutely no Atheist in Heaven. Of course when you do get to where you are going I'm sure you wont be disappointed to find it was only a coffin, or ashes scattered about. Heaven is a fine fantasy to dream about while you are alive. To me eternity would be boring as hell though. Oh that's right hells where I am supposed to go isn't it. OO

Pray for them. I think immediately after death all atheists of course realize that they were wrong in being angry at God for all the bad in the world that we caused. There is always hope of them being saved, even after death I believe.

No. I do not believe any atheists will be in heaven. God is the only one who knows the heart of man of why he accepts or denies his Son,Jesus Christ.
Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. Psalm 44:21
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 1 John 3:20
Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33
As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. John 6:57
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:12-16

It says in the Bible that you must "confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead"-Romans 10:9 to be saved. If you don't believe in God, then you will not go to heaven. Even though "the Lord is not willing that any should perish"-2 Peter 3:9 if you don't believe in him you will not go to Heaven

I do believe that a lot of people get saved right before death, but you have to accept Jesus into your heart and soul, believe he died and arose for you. That is the way I see it anyway. As for athiests, they would have to believe first so, no, there will not be any athiests in heaven.
