I should first say. I'm an adult. I've never been in an accident in my own vehicle OR ran into any object.

I'm visiting family at the moment and borrowed my parents car to go visit my extended family. On my way back, I went to fill their tank back up. There was a concrete pole 2ft off the ground right next to the pump. I took a sharp turn because I didn't see the pole. Well, now they are going to need a new front door and possibly a new back door also.

I feel so guilty. Luckily, this is the end of my trip so I don't have to be around to feel it much longer. They were very understanding. My father joked; "We needed a new door anyway!" I just don't know what to do or say.

Tomorrow I'll be with my mom all day long. I just don't know how to get over the awkward. Any advice?

Accidents happen, cut yourself a break. Your parents sound great and they were understanding so don't sweat it. It is just a car, get back to having a good remaining time with your parents.

Accidents do happen , as for that pole sticking up beside the gass pumps , i dont think such a thing should if been there in the first place, it should be the responsability of the gas station to fix the car

First off. Offer to pay for it. Then offer an simple apology. These things happen but to put your money where your mouth is , that is the bottom line. Then, if your father offerst to take the wrap then take him up on it. Then he and others won't think you are a slacker and you did the right thing.
