I was told because pigs aren't clean animals, but if you have known somebody that had one as a pet, you know they can be very clean, just like a dog.

There used to be worms call trichinosis but that was cleared up in healthy animals. Many Jews did not eat ham or pork but a lot do now.

It has been prohibited for us to eat pork in the Quran. There are many reasons for it as we know and as we learn from science also. Pig is a very unclean animal, it is full of parasites and worms, and it is very unhealthy. These reasons are good enough for us.

They dont eat pork because it is prohibited for them.
