Ok so I was talking to my bf on aim and then he was like : ok well see you at school tomorrow. Love you. Bye." And then he was like you love me too so I wrote ya I love you too. But ever since I wrote that I felt a knot in my stomach. I have never said that strong word to anyone that was not realated to me. I want to keep dating him but I kinda don't know if I would be better off alone with just friends. I kinda wanna break up with him but he just gave me a 18kt gold necklace which costs like 50 bucks! So I can't just break up with him now can I? I feel so bad saying this to him but I dunno. Please help me. I am so desperate for an answer. My age is not needed.

One of the smartest things I did in HS was tell my boyfreind who said the same thing to me... that it just couldnt be love yet... it is what they call puppy love... I was not ready for that word just like you. He was cool... the captain of the football team and I really liked him a lot... so when I told him I thought we should break up he through his ice cream cone out the car window and drove me home. That was the end of that.... You dont really need that necklace and can give it back if it makes you feel better and reminds you of him. Or you can keep it as it was a gift. YES you can break up with him... if you feel it is the right thing for you. Sometimes being strong and doing the right thing for ourselves is hard to do... but we must be strong to do what is right. Is it fair to you to bee with someone that is not right for you... more important is it fair for him if you stay with him and waste his time thinking you are into him more than you are. NO. Honesty is always the bast way to do things. It really is. You can ask him if he would like the necklace back or if he wants you to keep it, if this makes you feel better. He will probably say keep it. He and his feeelings are much more important than a necklace. Always do the right and honorable decisions when it comes to your life. You will have a better life this way in the long run. GL

if you care for him don't break up with him but sit him down and tell him that things are moving a little to fast for comfort. Tell he doesn't have to buy you things to prove he cares. And don't say I love you unless you mean it b/c it will loose it's meaning and just become another phrase before long. Think about it awhile before you do anything so you wont regret what you do...take care and good luck!
