Because Catholic priests, just like scout leaders, guidance counselors, youth ministers, doctors and nurses, coaches, and other professionals who molest children - oh, and let's not forget the single largest group of molestors - teachers - have free will. God cannot stop people from sinning. He can only call them not to sin, and judge them when they do. In any case, the incidence if such crimes among priests is no greater than among any other group of men, and slightly lower than the incidence among Protestant ministers. The difference is, any priest who commits such an offence appears on the front page of every newspaper in the country, while similar offenses by members of other professions receive only local coverage, or none at all. Did I mention grandparents? Uncles? Mom's boyfriend? (other groups of frequent molestors). When was the last time readers of the newspaper in Maine saw an article about a child being molested by Mom's boyfriend in Arizona??

Can we blame the Catholic Hierarchy who have protected their pedophile priests for centuries?????
Remember. God made the scumbag child molesters that way, then sent little kids for fodder.
And the people who protest the idiocy of that notion are destined to burn in hell.

Those crimes were hideous and horrible, but don't blame God. It's the few perverted priests who've done that. Also, don't blame all priests. Not everyone is like that.
