Why is it you can come up with faults of the Christian religion based on things in the past. Shouldn't you be talking about the present and making your comparisons. Who's evil now?

Thru out history, the words of the prophets have often been twisted to justify the actions of men. In these times of great moral strife when the "War on Terror" could easily blossom into a nuclear World War, people of all faiths should swear an oath: Over the next year they will learn as much as they can about the beliefs of one other religion. We people of Faith are in the majority and only by joining hands can we chose peace over war. For over 1400 years we have seen, without the slightest doubt, that religious intolerance begets religious intolerance. I suggest the opposite is also true and it is way past time for us to try this. Gandhi was a man who preformed a miracle of Peace in a time of great strife. He never really endorsed any particular religion and only spoke of his love of Life [God]. He never placed himself on a pestle and his story about a little girl's addiction to sweets endeared me. The peace between Hindu, Muslim, Christian & Jews is being stretched to its limits by wealth motivated agendas that require World War for success. While our nation has been focused on events overseas, the foxes here at home have been robbing the henhouse. With that thought in mind, :-) the answer to your question: It doesn't have to be that way even though that is how it has always been.
What a great question!
I hope you find my answer at least interesting?
Thanks
JTJ

Illiteracy, greed, hate and other human weaknesses make vicious people. Why to blame religion if our perception is poor. No religion promotes war. If vicious people use name of religion to promote their vicious goals, religion cannot be blamed. All the present issues are political in nature. You must study three religion before forming any opinion. Do not be carried out by media.

I agree with Maranzano. The Message of each religion has built into it the fairness, the justice and peace. Its what the rulers, clergy and people do together with the message that is so troublesome. As for the Message, its progressive and each one is for the people or time that it comes to. After a period of time a new Messenger arrives with the next step plus the previous laws and counsel that are for all time. At this point there is a Message extant for the people of the Earth, not just for a region that the Messenger has come to. We have arrived at that point. There will be a crisis that will move us forward into that Message from the Creator. It is crisis after all that moves the people into new ways of thinking and being.

I would have to answer no and move on.
God has told his people to go out and spread the word.
God gave everyone the freedom to choose to believe or not to believe.
Mohammed's parting words were to go and conquer the world.
If you do not convert to Islam you must be killed.
So comparing the two you can see where this is going. Now, there have been groups of people past, present, and shall we sadly state the future. Who will interpret the Bible to fit their bill.
God teaches man to love one another. Governments are established to bring justice to the unjust. However, God himself can get as pissed off as he wants to. He can wipe out entire nations himself just because the way they have turned their backs on him. If you have read the Bible you might know this.
Our culture trys to pen God as this Love Bug and that's it. This of course false. However angry God may get. It (as far as I know) is not his will for man to commit murderous crimes on the innocent. Nor kill someone just because they choose not to believe. God himself is justifyed in his own actions. For it is the evil ones who should be punished. Right?
If you think it is alright for a leader to have rape rooms, steal women and belittle them, murder his own people, and spread hatred among his land. Then I'm afraid your thoughts stand by those whom are evil. This would not mean I would be aloud to go out and kill you. In fact my primary job would be to pray for your freedom from the enemy and then for justice to be served.
Evil goes beyond the phrase all have fallen short of the Lord. "The crys of the innocent will be avenged."

The histories of the faiths certainly aren't. Both make a lot of talk about peace, love, and helping each other, but I don't see a lot of it out there among them.

Sounds about right to me. I'll be that if you looked all through history, religion would be the leading cause of death in the human race. It is the only thing that has the power to completely unravel thousands of years of development in civilizations, societies, etc.

Jihad is powerful in case you extremely understand the that technique of it. you imagine jihad is blowing your self up contained in the approach some threat free human beings?? nicely, this is not that. it takes a lot time to study about Jihad. a jihadist who kills threat free and civilians is doing a very massive sin and god will particular choose him and punish him. inspite of the indisputable fact that the real jihad is demanding to comprehend....

Obviously you are clueless as to what the new Testament says:
go back and read and then come try to talk ....maybe you won't make a fool out of yourself next time.
Ha, ha , Ha; ...I always have to laugh at you who are so clueless as to the truth of the Bible. I laugh as I watch you try to debate its contents and 'prove' it can't be true....It is hilarious to watch them destroy themselves in the process.
what an idiot.
