My sister also has been diagnosed with right breast cancer which has spread to one lymph node on the same side and she been performed radical masectomy and she has been given 1 st chemotheraphy and balance 7 are yet to be given. What the doctors say is since cancer is not found in any other place the chemo would be adjuvant and she would live her full life after the chemo. Hope this answers your question.

It does depend on the cancer, but most importantly, it can be stopped by immediate treatment such as surgery, chemo, and radiation.
