They are called Komondors. You can looks on the links provided for puppies available. Just FYI they need a lot of grooming and you have to "train" their hair to cord (form dreads) and cord it yourself. Also when you bathe them you have to be sure to thoroughly dry the cords or else they will mold.

PLEASE research this dog----99.9 percent of the people in the world do NOT want one. These dogs were bred to live with the flock, guard it and be capable of assessing and dealing with threats independently.

They are natural guard dogs---which may sound good on the surface but it really means that you will have to work very HARD to make sure this very large dog is properly trained and socialized.

They are VERY independent which means they may decide something is a threat---even though YOU don't. They can warn of the threat by barking or decide to attack someone coming into your home.

Here is an excerpt from the FAQ section at the Komondor Club of American site:
"
Will I have to worry about friends or acquaintances coming into the house or yard with my Komondor?

The Komondor is a large territorial dog that is used for flock and home guarding, and the Komondor owner must always anticipate his dog's behavior based on this fact. The Komondor will make up his own mind about who is or is not welcome on his property if he's not taught by you how to behave when strangers come to the house. It is important that Komondor puppies be socialized from the beginning. Kindergarten Puppy Training classes are excellent for Komondor puppies, as they expose the puppy to lots of people and dogs at an early age. "

A pet quality pup starts at about $1,000.

They look cute on tv but they are powerful, intelligent, willful dogs who need experienced, strong-willed owners who are capable of devoted a great deal of time to training and exercising them.

You may want to research this dog EXTENSIVELY!! It is NOT the dog for everyone. Besides a WHOLE LOT of grooming and upkeep, Komondors require a lot of exercse and work!

If you were to see one of these dogs up close, say at a dog show, you would get a better idea of what kind of dogs they really are.

As for Raz P's suggestion of checking out puppyfind, PLEASE do not do this!!

Komondor's are very rare and for good reason!!

To get one from a BACKYARD breeder, which is exactly what puppyfind listings are, is a terrible choice.
There are reputable breeders who have been working with the Komondor for many many years, and they really do know the breed.
