water is an element it is not actually living, but their are living organisms in water that is why humans filter our water to get most of them out. water dosen't grow or die like a tree. a tree reproduces thats how you know its living. ever seen the end of the movie "the fifth element"

If it is a living thing what does it eat? How does it breathe?
Uh.....no. It doesn't eat. Drowning people doesn't count as a digestive pattern. Boats don't either. Living things don't evaporate either. Water is considered a liquid. It has no life to it.
