No...I believe the Big Bang theory is scientific only. While it is only a theory it does refute the creation theory which is the religious belief.

Just because religious people happen to believe something doesn't automatically make it false or prevent it from being science. The big bang theory is simply what we have concluded from observing the universe expanding and other phenomenon. I also have to question how old this is as recent evidence has shown that the cosmic background radiation matches exactly what you'd expect from a universe beginning with a big bang.

No. The reason its not is really quite simple and has to do with ordinary Physics and even Quantum Physics.

Take one square inch of Outer Space. It contains (seriously) the same amount of energy as the total amount as the rest of the entire Universe combined. HOW? Because, in that one square inch, energy is popping in and out of existence on a Quantum level. This has been proven, empirically. That means more than once and on a scientifically repeatable level.

This could be how the Big Bang happened. In a space where there was nothing, something popped into being and BANG! there was light, for want of a better expression.

There's also a 2nd and more plausible explanation (or one that's just as plausible). And, that is 2 Branes slapping together to make our Universe.

No it is science (religion is not science), and thus is interpreted and understood based on what we can empirically observe. Astronomers can 'see' and 'hear' what they refer to as the 'big bang'.

Everything they know, and everything they continue to learn (from observation and hypothesis testing) all makes sense in terms of what we know about the universe back to that event.

No I believe the big bang is just a theory. Sentience have enough evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt but religious fundamentalist keep insisting it remain a theory because it don't jive with Geniuses word of God. OO

no

The author of the article makes some VERY major mistakes in his understanding of astrophysics. The largest one I see is this:
"Since the entire universe existing in just one spot would be the most super massive object of all, the universe could not be born." It is THIS POINT ALONE that he feels discredits the big bang theory. But this point is COMPLETELY wrong. Black holes emit energy, known as "Hawking Radiation", named after...you guessed it Stephen Hawking. This discovery proves that not everything gets eaten by a black hole and that it actually jets large amounts of material back into space.

The Big Bang is NOT religion. It has been proven to happen through hard evidence, evidence that amounts to MILLIONS of pages of mathematics and astrophysics. You are ignoring this evidence in favor of a single page of propaganda....think about that.

The author continues to say, "An attempt was made to prove the Big Bang by searching for the "Cosmic Background Radiation","....this is the point that leads me to believe the author has NO IDEA what he is talking about. If he had taken FIVE MINUTES to research this discovery, he would have known that this background radiation was found by accident and that no one was looking for it.

The author makes MANY MANY more mistakes in his paper, too many to list here.

what if the big bang is just the most resent expansion in an infinite series of expansions and contractions. Or our universe is a bubble in a ocean of bubbles. If the universe has always been around, then it was never created.

How can a religion be disguised as science?

It's completely obvious what is and isn't science.

The Big Bang isn't science, it doesn't fall under the category of science, you have to accept the theory by faith, It that regard, it is a religion.

Yes! Yes! Yes! It makes no sense. Where did that matter come from, who put it there, why was it all together like that, and what caused it to explode?
Theories in science are proven facts, like gravity. It should be called the Big Bang Hypothesis, not the Big Bang Theory.
