I'm going to get a dog when im 13 and im 11, im going to get a chihuahua male that is already neutered and has had his shots, my mother knows that i am responsible enough but she wants to wait till im 13 (so that I can be more responsible with housework and stuff and so I can havemore time for it cause when im thirteen i go to a new school which I get out earlier from) ive treid so much to make her change her mind about getting when im 13 and letting me get it now but its not working. My mom says that I can only get a dog when im 13 or if my friends dog is having pups (which there not) or if the dog is free. I asked if I can look in penny saver and get one since they have many ads but she said no... i feel so jealous watching my friends playing with there dogs... how do I make time feel shorter and faster? Like dogs are what I live for... so help me out how do i make time feel short and fast???

To make time go by read. They have great books about dogs. What u should is read about dog training and dog food and health care, although you may think u know all there is to know about dogs you will be surprised on much you didnt know about them. Start reading puppy books so by the time your 13 you will know enough to make you and your puppy happy. Good Luck and remember time flies when you occupy yourself with something you love.

Spend time with your friends and their dogs. Maybe go to the shelters and play with the dogs there. Spend time with other dogs and it will be almost like having your own and the time will pass much quicker. You can't know everything about all dog breeds.....lol I have owned dogs for over 35 yrs and owned many different breeds, but there is so much I do not know. Some breeds I have never seen except maybe on TV. I learn something new every day about different dog breeds.

Your mom is right and you just have to be patient. Try volunteering at a local shelter or rescue where you can be involved in training and/or playing with dogs.
Give your mom some credit though: she is the one who will have to pay for the bills, training, food, etc and most likely help you out when you need a babysitter if you want to go to your friends house for a weekend, camp, etc.!
Good luck with your dog in the future!

How about this - to prove to your mom how mature and responsible you can be, get a job as a dog-walker. Just a thought I had.
Good luck!

do your best to keep your grades up and your chores too. ask your mom to just think about making it a birthday present for you after you have shown and proved to her you can be responsible by doing your chores on your own and not being told. It just might work! Good luck sweetie.
