Depends on a couple of factors. Size, microwave or oven. I prefer small to medium sized Yukon gold organic potatoes, baked in the oven for about 1.5 hours in a shallow pan. Scrub them off, cut any bad spots and roots off, poke a couple of holes with a knife so they do not explode in the oven if you forget about them. Check them after they've been in for about 30-45 minutes, flip them over using a pot holder. Bake at 350 degrees. They are best cooked in the oven b/c they end up crunchy, not soggy on the outside.

If you are cooking other items, you can also put the potatoes on a different shelf in the oven. And if you live at a high altitude, the cooking time would be longer.

I have found that the best results come if you coat the potato in olive oil, rub on "Old Bay Seasoning", salt & pepper. Then poke a couple of small holes in each side, wrap in aluminum foil and bake @ 350 degrees f for 1 hr & 30 minutes in a shallow baking pan or cookie / pizza pan. The skin will be crisp & firm, the potato will be fluffy and be bursting with flavor. Try it & let me know what you think.

I last did baked potatoes on about 200 Degrees Celcius for around 45 minutes. Give them a little spray with oil and wrap them in aluminium foil, then after about 35-40 minutes poke them with a skewer to see if they're soft in the middle. It may take less or more time depending on your oven.

It depends on the size of the potato, but usually an hour at 400 degrees gets the job done well.

If you use the microwave method...poke it with a few holes and cook on high about 5 minutes then IMMEDIATELY wrap in foil for another 5 minutes or so. It will continue to cook on the counter.

350 degrees in the oven, wrapped in foil for about 40-60 minutes.

Medium power in the microwave, wrapped in plastic wrap for about 20-30 minutes. If you do it on high power for about 8-10 minutes, you can chop it up and put butter and cheese on it, and then cook it 2-3 more minutes.

The range in time is due to the range in size of the potatoes. If you cook them too hot and fast, then they will turn out dry.

depends on the size of the potato...you can set the oven for 350-375...put a slice in the potato on the top of it..add ab it of butter..salt, pepper...then cover it with foil...and bake for about 45-1 hour...(putting th butter is a choice..you don't have to do that..and don't slice the potato all the way thru..just a bit on top)
