I've learned that its not the war but its knowing that I wouldn't be able to sleep with a woman for the entire time. You can't go into the local bar and meet local woman like in Vietnam. How do we alieviate this problem. would legalizing deployable brathels with american women increase troop moral and increase recruitment?

Iraqi law is against everything. From bikinis to brothels.

Simple answer, take a shower!

If you are in the "S^&*" you should be more worried about keeping "IT" than using it. Your JOB is to complete the MISSION and NOT with you gun.

Get over it boy! No, brothels are NOT the answer because your deployment is NOT about getting layed; there may be a higher goal, spose?

Two tours, 72 days at sea and it never really entered my mind on 2 hours sleep in 24 the whole time. Spent time in country and forgot that I had "one", it just is NOT about your "gun" so pucker up boy and focus upon the task at hand, NO PUN intended.

THANKS for SERVING!

I am sorry about your situation. Try being haze gray and underway with no mail for months and no way to get any. Be glad that you have contact with the outside world. When I was on subs, we would go submerged for months at a time with no chance to even see a female other than in mags and movies. My thoughts is that you learn to deal with this because in today's culture legalizing a brothel will cause more problems than you can imagine.

That is stupid so I will assume you are joking.

I think the 16 hour days, 130 degree heat, no off days, constant RPG and mortar attacks and ambushes would be a bigger problem.

Oh there is also the little detail of not seeing your family or friends the entire time.

No, not at all. But then I stayed pretty busy during my deployment and didn't have a lot of time to think about sex. At least not to the point of obsessing about it. But then I have been married a long time so I have had training on doing without.

The hardest part is that of your male soldier partner. That's why I would never join the death forces.

Would you want your wife/sister/mother/daughter to work in a "legal" brothel? Keep it zipped, dude!

I would have thought the hardest part would be knowing you could be killed.

Perhaps that was the impetus for "don't ask, don't tell".
