Well, looked on www.familysearch.org for ya, lists oldest (1820s) as Germany, maybe hamburg, and more recently (1850s) as Prussian / Russian... Then, settled in the US in Pennsylvania, it seems.. perhaps what they call "pennsylvania dutch" - could help more if had more specifics...
