Reminds me of something Susan B. Anthony once said "It shall yet be the most remarkable feature of the bible - that there is not one word in praise of intelligence in it!"

You go girl

Christians are people who shop on with the coaching of Jesus Christ. He did quote the Scriptures many cases to tutor his factor. hence many Christians do an identical, an exceedingly good thought. I even have consistently thought it humorous that human beings who thumb down an answer whilst the scripture proves the factor the guy posting stated. The Bible is God's word and those issues tutor it. a million) The Bible is scientifically marvelous. basically God might have commonplace the form of the earth whilst the Bible became written. In Ecc. it says the earth is a sphere and sits on itself. the form of a sphere is around. 2) traditionally it incredibly is actual as a prediction of Cyrus became foretold 3 hundred years until now he became born and he became named with the aid of his call, Cyrus. We additionally comprehend the Cesar's lived as nicely because of the fact the Pharaohs. 3) the main excessive element is the predictions interior the Bible have come actual. There are basically 2 that have not occurred, the super Tribulation and Armageddon. With this tract record, why might we not have confidence the e book of Revolution?

There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to destruction -Prov. 14:12.Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. For it is written, He catches the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile -1 Cor. 3: 1820
The Bible commands us to test all things and not to believe every spirit, but to test the spirits. It commands us to examine everything. It declares that God says, Come Let us reason together. This is not a blind faith, it is a faith built on intelligent deductions of the evidence. We are to love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, MINDS and strength. Nowhere are we told to accept and believe blindly. It is those who do not believe which the Bible calls fools. The Bible tells us in Romans 1 that all mankind is "without escuse" because the invisible attributes of Almighty God are visible in creation. The intricacies and complexities of one single human cell prove without doubt there is an omniscient God behind everything. Evolution certainly can't logically explain it. Nor does evolution have any explanation for the fact that there are no fossils below the so called Cambrian layer. Life just suddenly appears on earth in all of its complexities, as the Bible states clearly. The Bible does have these answers. The age of fossils is not based on science, but on the assumption that the hypothesis of evolution is true. The fossil record is not so difficult to explain when you read the account of the world wide flood in Genesis. The evidence is blaringly obvious that these fossils and the deposits of oil etc were all laid down by the Genesis flood.
We are commanded not to lean on our own understanding because our minds are finite and polluted by sin. God is infinite and omniscient and is without sin. Even leading evolutionists admit that the hypothesis of evolution is based on their own bias, conjecture and imagination. When one seriously considers all -and I emphasize the word all- evidence it quickly becomes plain that it is Christians who are the ones using common sense.

Avoidance is more useful than intelligence, but the lord you speak of has no honor in saying and not doing, so do many. Pointing things out is a national holiday activity nowadays, perhaps it should come as hash browns in 4th of july, or peanuts and hot dog in ballparks. Bye.

My life would not have been this much fun and rewarding had I leaned on my own judgment about many things. Humans err badly every day....The Lord will never let us down. Granny at 64.....You must be young. By the time you reach 50 you really began to realize how little you know.

You forgot to read the rest of the passage:

Happy the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding!
For her [wisdom] profit is better than profit in silver, and better than gold is her revenue;
Proverbs 3:13-14

It is not saying to ignore common sense, God wants us to be wise. Read what the two people said above me.

Here's another one for you: "He who trusts in his own heart is a fool" (Proverbs 28:26)
or this one:
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
But a wise man is he who listens to advice" (Proverbs 12:15)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding

It means that we shouldn’t think we have all the answers. Good advice too.

Hi! I thiink what this means is that you must love god because he loves you alot more than you imagine in the whole universe whole biiger than the universe because we are his children, don't beleive in those movies or people that make God have a a scary voice, because God loves us all even the bad ones. He wants us to live with him again. To the next one, "with all your heart" you must love him back... I just read it agian and it means that you must ( it is your chioce he is not forcing you) trust in him with all your heart and you do not need the intellgence y to have the trust in the Lord. Repeat You do not need to have intelligence to trust in the lord with all your HEART! Look at this it is probably easier "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart:;and lean not unto thine understanding" it is the King James dVersion of the Bible, probably easier to know of. I hope this wasa good help for whoever you are but, I truly believe in God and Jesus. I will never deny, because I do trust him with all my heart. More answers on LDS. com or LDS questions. com. I was glad to help : ) Yeah!

Just one example out of many in the Bible

edit: The quote is accurate enough.
I just checked it.
It has only slight changes in the "your own intelligence" in all english translations, and none of them change the sense of the verse.

Maybe if Dr. Oppenheimer had taken that approach he wouldn't have built a working A-Bomb.

Mr. Schindler was a devious con man who made friends with the Nazi, got contracts to build wepons and then did his best to make sure they didn't work.
