yes, in almost all areas this is illegal because you're not able to hear sirens etc.

It depends on the state you are living in. Most states have laws against wearing earphones while driving because you can not hear other people's horns and sirens. That is why I-pod has a docking station for cars.

Most definitely illegal...regardless of what state you're in...I was in a state of shock, state of confusion, state of drunkeness...but the cops still gave me a ticket for driving with my headphones on. If you're gonna listen to tunes in your car, use the radio, tape deck or CD player that comes with the car...if you really need to listen to your MP3 player , then buy yourself an FM transmitter for $20.00 and you can listen to your tunes from your Ipod without having to plug the earphones into your ears.
