In1988 someone wrote a book entitled--"88 Reasons Why Jesus Should Come Back In 1988"!
Did Jesus come back in 1988? No! It does not mean that Jesus will come back in 2007 just because 25% of Americans think this!
My theory has always been--If Jesus comes back in my lifetime than great and if He does not then that is still okay because I know that Jesus is promised to return!!

It could happen today as far as that is concerned. It was about a dozen years ago that G-d spoke to me audibly and said "The end of all things is at hand" and recently I have had the sense, spiritually, that 1) we have turned a corner; 2)we are coming down the home stretch and 3)the church of today needs to have the attitude of someone who is lying prostrate before the soon coming King.
But do look at the signs of the times. We have seen fulfilled the prophecy in Daniel of the multi-layered statute (bronze, iron, irond-clay feet) the iron-clay feet having ten toes which are the main signators of the European Economic Community. We have the technology via communicataion satellites - RFID chips, whereby no man may buy or sell, we see more and more churches essentially becoming clones of one another. Everythning today is considered to be a global marketplace. Let us not forget that we have had an ever increasing rise in wars, faminie and pestilences, not to mention Earthquakes all over the globe.
The signs abound and His coming is very near, even at the door. Believe it!

What source gives this 25% figure? Nobody knows when the Lord will come again, but the Father Himself.
Besides, all the prophecies and signs of the times are not all fulfilled. Have you heard that the two prophets in Jerusalem had been killed by stoning yet and lay on the streets for three and a half days and then were brought up to heaven? I hadn't heard of it either.
Live your life, plant your trees, and work toward your retirement. But serve God and have faith in Jesus Christ. All else will fall into place.

I question the poll really. The number you are referring to was recently published in an article. It was a telephone poll of 1,000 random people living in the US. This means 2 things to me:
1)That people who are willing to waste their time answering telephone poll phone calls tend to be Christian Fundamentalists.
2)1,000 people seems like a VERY small sample size for a population of 300,000,000. I bet if you asked EVERY citizen, the % would be much lower.....I would hope.

Because they are listening to the wrong people. It is clearly state in the Bible that no one, not even Christ himself, would know when the end will come. That is something known only to God the Father.

PEOPLE ARE JUST IMPATIENT. GOD HISELF SAID THAT NO ONE KNOWS EXCEPT THE SON (JESUS CHRIST). SINCE JESUS HASN'T TOLD ANY HUMAN YET WE MUST NOT SPECULATE THAT WE WILL BE THE ONES HE CHOOSES TO REVEAL THIS FACT (HIS EXACT 2nd COMING). PEOPLE OF ALL SORTS HAVE TRIED THIS FOR MILLENIA - ALL HAVE FAILED.
THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE AUTHOR OF THE "LEFT BEHIND" BOOKS, LOL, :-)
