If you have to ask you aren't.

I'd say yes, because only certain countries, including the USA have what we call, an engagement ring. Other countries, such as Russia, there's no ring. But people still get engaged. And in considering that it might take them upto 7 years to pay off the real ring, I think you should consider yourself engaged. If he popped the question, when offering the ring, and you said yes then took the ring, (regardless of it being a $10 one or not), you're officially engaged. So take it seriously, and don't do anything to betray him, in any way! When there's a promise ring instead, it's semi official.

While my Fiance of 3 yrs points out (that I've said before) ...it's not the Cost of the ring that matters...it was the intent and commitment behind the gesture. If he has NOT Specially asked and you accepted marriage, nor has he introduced you as a Fiancee...then you are just waiting for the Proposal and I would consider the ring as a PROMISE Ring. If he is introducing you as the Fiance...you can point out that he has never Officially asked (which you'd love for him to do....) so you can Officially accept.....Fancy Ring or Not!

he took u to look at rings, gave u a cheap one and u are saying u want the real thing to be a surprise? Where in all this was his proposal of "will u marry me?" Seriously, if u have to ask people here if you are engaged, it's a safe bet to say the answer is no.

A $10 ring isn't a bad price for engagement sex. Probably buys them by the dozen. Is he only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays? That would be a giveaway. That means he is engaged to at least 3 other women. Guy must have the constitution of a bull!

You are not engaged until your man presents you with an actual engagement ring then says the words "Will you marry me?". Then you reply a "Yes."

Looking at rings and wearing a pre-engagement (promise) ring does not count.

Engagement is a feeling ..usually attached to a shiny diamond. I would say you ARE NOT officially engaged. If that were the case then ...there would be no need for real engagement rings and we could all twist foil around our ring finger.

If he hasn't officially proposed on bended knee, then you're not officially engaged. The temporay ring seems more like a promise to propose. He needs to ask. It doesn't matter what Ring he gives you, but he needs to say those words.

you may definitely take care of this as long as you do issues in a logical order! you may not %. a date (as somebody else has stated) as maximum venues would be booked with the aid of now. So commence with the aid of determining in case you have chose church or registry place of work/inn. Then elect perhaps 3 venues you incredibly like and notice what dates they have available. it would desire to be which you would be greater beneficial off determining on a mid-week day (tues/weds/thurs) because it is going to lots much less annoying to get venues and all different providers in place than combating for a Saturday.

Um I would say no. Usually you finance the ring while it is on your finger!! Have you set a date?
