If you still are having pain I would phone the doc again tomorrow, you should be responding to the Cipro by now. Keep taking the pills until the prescrition is finished, drink lots of water.

Cepro is a very strong antibiotic. You should allow the medicine to take its course.
Not everyone can take this medicine because it is so strong. It is designed to make the cause worse, and attacks the infection once it has placed another infection within.

However, my body has allergic reactions to Cepro, and this could be a problem. You may want to contact your doctor immediately about this matter.

Generally Bactrim is the best drug for a UTI, and I took a seven day dose to cure, and it was gone by the fifth day.

Good Luck- Call your doctor.

You either have:
1. A resistant organism (resistant to bactrim/TMP/SMZ)
2. Non-infectious urethritis (chemical, especially from soaps/bubble baths etc....)
3. STD (no offense)

Are you saying you have had a UTI for 6+ days? Have you been taking ciprofloxacin for 3 days with no relief? Did the doctor culture your urine? and if so, were sensitivities sent? Start with those questions.

Yes you need to go back to the doctor and tell them the medication is not working. It could be that the bacteria have grown to be immune to the medication causing them to stay alive and not go away. If you waited awhile before you went to the doctor then that could be a major reason why this UTI is not going away. I think you need to go back to the hospital, hope it goes away soon.

Your physician's course so far has been reasonable. If after a couple of days your symptoms do not improve your doctor may want to send your urine for culture if he/she hasn't already, or if your urine is not infected anymore, you may benefit from a urinary anesthetic such as pyridium. You may now be dealing with the lasting irrative effects of your UTI. Remember wipe front to back after bm and always urinate after intercourse to help prevent recurrent bladder infections. Hope this helps.

Take the meds like the dr. says...if it's not better after you take all of it go back...there could be more wrong like a kidney stone or something. Take Uristat for the pain. Take cranberry pills, drink water, etc.
