You may or may not. Some of the things you described are related to ADHD disorder. I do not believe depression is a symptom of ADHD.

Criteria Reviewed in Diagnosing:
A child must exhibit symptoms before the age of seven and within at least two settings (e.g. in school and at home). The criteria for diagnosing ADHD also requires that symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity have persisted for at least 6 months and that they are more frequent and severe - to the point of impairment - than typically observed in individuals at a comparable level of development.

Here are some symptoms of ADD or ADHD:

_ Often fidgeting with hands or feet, or squirming while seated.
_ Having difficulty remaining seated.
_ Being easily distracted by extraneous stimuli.
_ Having difficulty awaiting turn in games or group activities.
_ Often blurting out answers before questions are completed.
_ Having difficulty in following instructions.
_ Having difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities.
_ Often shifting from one uncompleted task to another.
_ Having difficulty playing quietly.
_ Often talking excessively.
_ Often interrupting or intruding on others.
_ Often not listening to what is being said.
_ Often forgetting things necessary for tasks or activities.
_ Often engaging in physically dangerous activities without considering possible consequences.

If you think you are experiencing these symptoms, talk to your parents and request that you be seen by your physician or a mental health professional.

depression is not a main symptom of ADD/ADHD... Fudge's response is an accurate list of the symptoms... I am not a big fan of psych docs for kiddles because it's their business to make a diagnosis out of anything you present to them... you can perhaps work with a counselor who can teach you how to best channel your energy and tips you can use when you feel yourself getting depressed... keeping a journal of your feelings might also help a bunch because on paper you can see your behavior patterns... or a chart... headings like day/time mood what was happening at the moment so you can start to figure out how you get to where you find yourself

whatever you do, don't just hop on the medication bandwagon - often, it causes more harm than good in the long run

good luck!

Its a tough call. Try for one day to have little caffiene cut down of soda, cofe anything with sugar now see how you act? it is still the same? well then if its the same it is very possible that you do have ADHD

but of course the only way you can know for sure is by going to your doctor and getting the real proper diagnosis you can take guesses here but the doctor will tell you for sure if its ADHD or something else.

Nope, you're fine! I'm a teenager (17), and trust me when I say that these feelings are normal. You're probably just anxious. Try drinking less caffeine/coffee/soda and sugar, and you'll be fine in just a few days. Remember to drink lots of water, too. Good luck :)

You may have Bipolar Disorder. It doesn't sound like ADD or ADHD to me. Ask your mom to take you to a psychiatrist who specializes in adolescents. You'll get the answer, and treatment, you need.

I think you do have it. Go to your mom and let her take you to a doctor for a real diagnosis.
