Our daughter was like that! Basically what our Ped said was yes it might give you headaches but it does work. When it is time for bed lay your boy in the crib and walk out. If he starts crying go in there after 5/10 minutes and rub his back, DO NOT take him out, but let him know you are there. and basically repeat the process. in about a week he should be OK. That was the advice that I was given! Good Luck

There is nothing wrong with co-sleeping why would you want to stop? In fact many studies suggest that it promotes better bonding, higher self esteem, more secure children and adults. Who wants to sleep alone?? Your son will let you know when he is ready to move into his own bed. This is not spoiling your child, he needs you 24 hours a day not just when the sun is shining ;-]

You will just have to put him in his crib and let him cry it out. Put a mobile in there for some music for him to listen to. Thats the only thing you can do is let him cry it out and he will get the hang of it.

Why wasn't he in his crib from day one? You have made this problem for yourselves and it will take some doing to get him into his own bed.

YOU ARE ALREADY SPOILING HIM, YOU KNOW THIS! PUT HIM IN HIS CRIB, FIRMLY SAY GOOD NIGHT AND YOU WILL HAVE TO LISTEN TO CRYING FOR A FEW DAYS. HE IS TOO OLD TO BE IN YOUR BED!

you are not spoiling your child. and there is nothing wrong with co-sleeping. it builds a better bond between the parents and baby, especailly mother and child. i have a 19mth old son who slept with us since day one. he still sleeps with us every once in a while, but since we got him his toddler bed, he just started to want to sleep in that. so if he wants to sleep in that, he does, if he wants to sleep with us, he can. we do still have the toddler bed in our room, we haven't transitioned it into his own bedroom yet. we will do that when we feel he is ready.
so in time, he will grow out of it, but if you really want him out of your bed, and into his own now, just keep putting him in his own bed. soon enough he'll learn to sleep in there.
