My guess is it was forwarded to yahoo and they took action. I believe they removed it, because some of the smart remarks certain individuals can make, and yahoo doesn't want to take a chance that it would be something to send the poor person over the edge. Suicide is a serious issue. I at least hope they attempted to get the person help.

because, to give advise in a paper, you have to be liscensed, and if they leave a question like that on here, somebody could say things like "do it" or something else that could make him kill himself. And then, somebody on here who told him to go ahead, might get arrestted or something. They probably notified the police about it or gave him a hotline via email.

I saw a question like the one you describe, and think it was deleted because some of the answerers were encouraging him to do it, and even suggesting ways to do it without much chance of "failure". It would be major bad press is somebody came on here, suicidal, and the reponses he gets drive him over the edge...

They might have made those suggestions. They certainly would not have done that in public. And that was a legally dangerous question to leave posted on a moderated board.

They might have feared lawsuits becasue they "provided" the advice that lead to/influenced whatever the result was/could have been.

The question is very personal and this site is not appropriate for it. Since we, as the answeree, do not know personally the person is and what he can do to himself.
